2nd time here - first was by chance and this time planning in advance. We'd remembered just how good our lunch was so went back for Saturday supper. It's a very appealing pub, both stylish and rustic. Definitely an eating pub and it was full by the time we began eating. Very good service. Food delicious and interesting choices on... More

Excellent food and historical setting on our doorstep in Somerset. Sunday lunch is scrumptious, but booking essential.

Delicious well presented food in fair prices worth 5 stars! Staff very nice and helpful. We didn't like the interior though. Old and not very comfortable chairs and wierd smell in the room.

Great atmosphere, lovely decor, friendly staff and excellent food. There is a good selection of beers and wines and a reasonable choice of food, even at lunch. Food is well prepared and served promptly. Both food and drink are reasonably priced. Lovely garden for the summer and nice fires in the winter. The only problem with using this place as... More

No wonder this restaurant features in so many "best restaurant" lists including the Sunday Times Top 100 British restaurants in February 2017. The chef is clearly talented and the staff are friendly and attentive. My starter of Somerset cider doused mackerel followed by Roasted "sugar pit" beef brisket were sublime. The choice of cheeses were unusual and local except for... More

The Lord Poulett is a lovely pub. The service is friendly and the food is tasty. However I do fear it is slightly over priced. My meal was delicious but was too jam packed (it was a sea food curry). They could afford to be less fancy with their meals and take it back to basics. The pudding was also... More

We had a lovely family supper here. Great atmosphere, open fires and no bright lights. A comprehensive menu featuring lots of local produce. All our meals were very good. Nice selection of beers and a very good, reasonable wine list. Friendly staff. An English pub at its very best. Worth a detour.

We found this pub/hotel on line with excellent reviews. It was close to the wedding venue and very much in the quiet of a country village. There are four rooms, numbers 1 & 4 have en suite facilities, 2 & 3 (we had 3 which is lovely) have private bathrooms opposite which was a bit of a surprise but didn't... More

Last night was our third visit and as always had great food and great service. Staff really couldn't be more helpful. Even after moving into the bar we still received table service. Menu is always full of interesting, up market options and a few of the usual pub dishes. More expensive than the average pub but quality also much better.
