How sad that Aobaba has closed. A relatively rare Vietnamese restaurant. Although service usually came without a smile, the food was really good. Rice vermicelli with spring rolls was delicious, as was the curry. An unfortunate loss for Kingston-upon-Thames.

My boyfriend and I made the trip to Kingston especially to visit this place and try its bubble tea! It was easy to find, and the list of bubble tea ingredients was mind boggling – it took us ages to decide on a flavor!! I was worried that they might not have much choice, or that it wouldn’t be the... More

This place is the only place in Kingston (or anywhere besides London that I know of) that does bubble tea so we go there a fair bit. Never eaten there. Definitely the service is very very strange, in most cases the servers seem rather bemused and slightly annoyed to find customers in the shop. We like boba (like little bubbles... More

I really do usually try to find some positives about places but could not find any about this one. The food was awful. I had the vegetarian pho and my friend had the chicken one. I barely ate any of mine and the chicken one apparently had no taste. It looked poor too. Very disappointing as I remember going there... More

With our regular marketplace Vietnamese stall closed we thought we'd try aobaba for lunch. I ordered fresh prawn summer rolls, butterfly prawns and chicken pho soup. The summer rolls were ok, the butterfly prawns greasy, and the soup broth was bland and lacked the depth of flavour I'm used to from the market stall. Also I sincerely hope the kitchen... More

This used to be a regular visit of mine, for the bubble tea, but since the renovation things seem to have unfortunately changed. The drinks are never as flavourful as they used to be, and on multiple occasions I have been given a different drink to what I ordered, despite being the only one there. I wish I could leave... I had entered a competition for a free meal when buying a bubble tea from this restaurant months ago. I was excited to find out we had won! We knew it wasn't a hugely high rated place so weren't expecting too much. The place itself is huge, high ceilings and heaps of tables and chairs. The floor was really dirty... More

I am great fan of Vietnamese food and have visited most of restaurants in Greater London. Unfortunately this one is at the very end of my list. The food is below average - Pho taste is just not fresh, seems that old ingredients were used - accompanying vegetables were at least few days old. Vietnamese style curry was also very... More

Restaurant is very dull and dirty - marks on walls , what looks like spit marks, hairs and food debris on floor (this was early in the day). Food was greasy and of very poor quality. Never going back.

Amazing pho, nice location with a lovely interior design. Odd service, didn't realise you had to collect you tray at the till, overall a great restaurant

Deliciously fun and varied menu of different flavours of tea with 'bubbles', little flavoured jelly balls, like gummy sweets in a drink!
