As any long time local will tell you the Fleur de Lys was famous for its pies. Delicious monsters worth travelling many miles for. Those days are sadly long gone, but the pub has over the years maintained a reputation for passable pies and pretty good cask ales. Its location in the village of Lowsonford by the canal is idyllic... More

Lovely Sunday roast - 4 decent slices of medium 28 day aged succulent beef with all the trimmings (a few more potatoes would have been nice) Good value, affable clientèle and prompt courteous table service Loads of seating outside in the sunshine - if you want to sit inside you will NEED to make a booking for Sunday lunch as... This has been a favourite destination for some time but our visit today left us disappointed. We were a party of 4. A favourite meal is seafood lasagne but it was not in the same class as usual. Quality down & price up. Caesar salad left us worrying for our teeth as the croutons were so hard. What has happened... More

We ate here with friends on Bank Holiday Monday and had booked a table for 5pm. We all had a 'special' but could have been told prior to ordering that the Belly Pork dish was no longer available but this does not affect my review. Many of the staff were young and possibly learning their trade as ordering drinks and... More

Thought it would be really busy on the warmest day of the year so far and it was outside but inside was very welcoming the food was great but I suspect the pies were brought in from Pieminister. As a child I use to visit this pub when it made the original Fleur-de-lis pies. However it was very nice cooked... More

I don't believe in ranting here without first giving the proprietor a chance to explain but the response received was not an accurate account of the experience we encountered as the pub was not overly busy as suggested. So here we go After ordering our starters they did not appear for at least half an hour, we then had to... More

Absolute gem of a pub at the end of a picturesque drive through some country lanes. The outside area has masses of space, a small child's play area + also backs on to the canal. Inside you are greeted by a lovely modern (but still maintaining the old beams) airy room which then leads off into other rooms. First thing... More

Actually not so little, but a nice pub location in the country with a fabulous pie menu. I have been here before and had a lovely proper pie (as in an individual shortcrust pie, none of this stew with a lid) but had the sunday roast, which was ample and tasty. Nice outside and inside area, friendly staff and fair... More

The booking was for a friend's 50th birthday and it was a great success. The staff were extremely helpful and made us very welcome. Added to which the home made pies were amazing. A great lunch.

Picturesque countryside location let down by mediocre food. Great spot to enjoy a canal side drink. Popular with families and dog owners.
