One of Tasmania's best kept secrets, this winery is a little off the beaten track north of Huonville. It is a tastefully set out restaurant looking out over the vineyard, which at this time of year is golden yellow & glorious. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with lunch & pinot noir here. Every morsel was heavenly & the wine...sublime. This... More

We were given a horrible table near the entrance and the door outside so it was cold every time it opened. Note to self ask for table by window away from doors. Menu wonderful choices. The pork belly was rubbery and dry. The rabbit pie was tasty with lovely pastry. The salmon main was excellent but the steak over cooked.... More

I feel sad writing this as I really wanted to write a positive review.. I had heard that a new chef had arrived at Home Hill and the food had improved a great deal.. Well ... Service was ok, not great but ok.. However the food was the main reason we returned.. Sadly, it was pretty awful.. My salmon was... More

What do you do when the weather is cool overcast and drizzling ? You spend the next few hours wine tasting and having lunch at this fantastic establishment. When we called for a booking we were told it was fully booked but we took the chance at driving there for some wine tasting then on the chance we might be... More

Dined here as part of a group of 14 and on a tight schedule as bookings with other attractions locked in. We had to push back our booking by half an hour, which Home Hill took in their stride. We enjoyed a group menu with ample variety even though some of our party wanted to pick 'off menu' options, and... More

A lovely trip out from Hobart to visit the Winery and Restaurant at Home Hill at Ranelagh. Weather was glorious, and the setting is lovely, with inside and outside seating. We had a gorgeous lunch including the generous sharing platter (which was the best we had in 4 weeks travel around Australia) and tried the excellent wines. Would certainly recommend,... More

50 minutes by Bus from Hobart, this winery is a great place for conference delegates to unwind. The local wine selection was impeccable and the food well presented tasty and filling. There is a selection of Cashmere, Alpaca and other garments, as well as cheeseboard condiments.

Home Hill Winery is well worth considering for lunch.. The portions were small & tasty.. Rather expensive.. Attentive staff .. The restaurant is a modern, clean facility overlooking the vineyards.. It has a nice retail section featuring warm winter ladies scarves, jackets, hats, ponchos etc..

Two couples for Sunday lunch. Lucky to get onto the terrace on a glorious late summer day. Lunch spread over 3 hours! This is a working vineyard with the grapes growing outside and the wine stored in barrels in the foyer. We had some issues with the cooking of the food - well done does not mean pink (or in... More

Description
Home Hill Winery is a boutique vineyard and restaurant situated in the picturesque Huon Valley, just 30 minutes south of Hobart.

With award-winning wines, and a menu full of delicious local and Tasmanian produce, Home Hill has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike for over 15 years.

The vineyard was planted in 1992 with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sylvaner grapes. The grey loam, high-clay soil and reliable rainfall provide excellent growing conditions for these varieties with the wines winning multiple awards including the prestigious 'Jimmy Watson Trophy' for the 2014 Kelly's Reserve Pinot Noir, amongst other accolades.

Home Hill is the perfect location for lunch, your next event or function, weddings, or just to pop in for a wine tasting.
