Friends raved about the broasted chicken so we all went for dinner. We had the chicken and pork chop. The pork was tough, but the chicken was good. The cole slaw is supposed to be very good, but really not to our liking. Plenty of...More

Restaurant is very good, good food and friendly wait staff. Unfortunately it took a hit in a recent tornado and will be closed a short time. Looking forward to it reopening soon.

Eating at the Mel-O-Dee brought back fond memories. I ate there on their opening day many years ago. Visiting the area we had to stop in for lunch. Still has a fine chicken dinner and burgers.

I was craving broasted chicken, and this was the place to cure the craving! The slaw really is good. I'm not a fan of the homemade bread because I like a heartier crust, but it is fresh and warm. The menu is extensive, so there...More

This place has been in operation for years. It really is one of those great "old school" type eateries---the food is just good basic stuff, nothing fancy--just plain good though. Same for the building it is located. It "brings ya back" in time. Well worth...More

Once high levels of service and taste-it now suffers from indifferent service and frozen TV dinner quality. No longer worth the drive.

In the 60's the Mel-o-Dee was a nice place to eat. Good food, good service, good prices. Then it started it's decline. Every thing started to go. If you order a meal today and then order it next week, it's not the same. Why is that? 30 years ago, it was still an "alright" place to eat, but now it's all but slid off the spot for edible meals. My wife and I come back every 2 or 3 years to see if they have improved. We're never disappointed. STILL no good!! Why is that? Even their cole slaw is different from day to day. Why is that?! Okay, that's three questions.....................................
