We stops in here at least once on each trip we make to Brookings, sometimes for breakfast but mostly lunch. Good ordinary food at a reasonable price.

grilled cheese sandwich was not grilled, the cheese was not melted, the cheese was two slices of Kraft plastic wrapped. The clam chowder looked like old grey dish water

Make sure you check out their retail selection of locally made jams, jellies and syrups. They have a freezer full of locally caught fish for sale and interesting stufc all over. Don't go there often because usually have breakfast t home. Do stop in on occasion and am always pleased. Good place to go when you get service at the tire shop across the street.

Not only was the breakfast wonderful, many locals and the owners welcomed us new comers and made us feel very much at home. And their in house smoked fish is the absolute best we've ever had anywhere. Added to our list of return visits!

Mattie's is always so busy we decided to try this place again. We've probably eaten there three times, but this will be the last. They're not very accommodating, their food didn't have a lot of flavor and their coffee was weak. From now on will suffer through the long lines at Mattie's!

Not sure if it's the norm, but the morning we were there for breakfast they were super busy and very understaffed! I almost wanted to get up and help in the kitchen. the food was delicious though and the waitress was apologetic for sure.

The staff here are amazingly friendly. Food is quick and filling. It was nice, but not the best I've had. But it's a friendly comfortable place to eat.

Reasonably priced breakfast. The two egg breakfast is $6.99, the sausage and egg breakfast is $7.99. Coffee is $1.50. The eggs were cooked perfectly - over easy and over medium, as we ordered them. I only wish the home fries had some regular or green onions, rather than just potatoes (not even any spices). Heading South look for the blue... More

We went here when we couldn't get into Mattie's Pancake House. That place is crazy busy. We got in right away but they were turning other ppl away because the kitchen was overwhelmed. Even when tables we open or were about to be open. I got the chicken fried steak and eggs. I'd give it 3 out of 5. I'd... More
