With so few places to get fuel and food, this is a must stop. Someone in Hood River told us about it so we had to go. Cafe is nice, burgers were top notch and milkshakes large! Couldn't finish mine but others seemed to do just fine. Good little store with everything from hats and T shirts to beer, wine,... More

The people here are exceptionally friendly and helpful. This is the only fuel stop for many miles, and a great place to get out and stretch your legs. The burgers are awesome, and they have the best milkshakes anywhere. On this trip we stopped in for breakfast, and not only is it great food, but the helping was so big,... More

You can get an excellent burger or BLT, and they are known for their homemade shakes, but if you go on a busy weekend, like Memorial Day, be prepared to wait.

We were visiting friends in Fields, so a trip to the local cafe was a must. First trip was for breakfast, was warned the servings are big, just didn't know how big, plate sized pancakes. Next day was for lunch and a famous hamburger and milkshake. Both meals lived up to their reputation. Would love to have a 3 C's... More

If you're ever near Fields, Oregon, you simply MUST stop at Fields Station. Literally, you HAVE to stop there because it is in the middle of nowhere in SE Oregon and there's nowhere else to get gas. But while you're there, try their "best in the world" cheeseburgers and shakes. Their claim for worldwide excellence is credible. And lots of... More

Stopped at Fields Station for one of their famous bugers. Upon entering the nearly empty cafe, the curvaceous but non communicative cook ignored me for awhile, then took my order, including my request for 'medium rare', to which she relied "I'm cooking and you'll get them the way I cook them!". Rather than throwing a burger on the grill, she... More

We stopped because we were desparate for gas, and we were impressed. Good breakfast, friendly people. It was an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Really. :)

Let's get one thing straight: the milk shakes are nothing special. And are not a good value. Staff all seemed to be in a bad mood on my visit.

Riding on a long lonesome road on a hot summer day when I stopped here for gas and a great meal. They have two signs on the wall keeping track of the number of "world famous" shakes and burgers served. As far as I'm concerned they can add another digit to the count after my awesome meal. Friendly ladies behind... More

What a fun experience. Fields is wayyy off the beaten path; it is like an oasis in the beautiful, remote Steens Mountain area. We enjoyed large, homemade milkshakes that were served In large, ice-cold metal glasses; the small store offers essential food items and some oddities (need a bobcat skin?). The staff is chatty, helpful and cheerful. There is a... More
