We were looking for a restaurant near our hotel in mid-afternoon where we could grab a quick bite to eat and my husband spotted Q Restaurant. Boy, was THAT a fortuitous choice! Very nice looking bar-restaurant with excellent service. The food, however, was outstanding. Chef Annie Cuggino has really developed some excellent dishes. We were there for lunch and our burger and smoked Turkey sandwich were the best we’ve ever had. The thin cut French fries with a strip of potato skin were also some of the best we have had. The strawberry Shortcakd was generous enough to share and the shortcake was very tender. I have always relied on Trip Advisor for restaurant recommendations but I REALLY want to go back to Q to try their dinner selection. I think you can tell that we really liked this place!!

Four of us had dinner at Q on a recent Saturday night. At 5:30 parking was easy and that started the evening on a good note. It got even better after that. We were quickly seated at a nice table and our wine was opened and served. We were never rushed and the service was impeccable, very attentive servers but not obtrusive. We all had salads, the Caesar and an interesting Hearty Greens with local seasonal greens. Two of us had the Cannelloni special and it was filled with a delicious mix of seafood including calamari, scallops ,shrimp and a white fish. Another had Ossa Buco that is a Q specialty. and the fourth member of our group had the thickest NY Steak I have ever seen. That seems to be a Q theme: all entrees have opulent portions, worth every penny. Kudos to Chef Annie and the staff!

If I had one last meal, it would be Q for the Osso Bucco. Every part of every meal is outstanding. The service is amazing. We were met by one of the owners and Chef Anne brought a take home gift to the table. We have gone to Q for our anniversary every year for the last 25 years and we will continue. Thank you

We had dinner at Q one night when we spent a few days in Portland in July 2023, and it was outstanding. The dishes were thoughtful and creative, and they were prepared with great care and attention to detail. In addition to the flavours, much thought was put into the interesting and very satisfying combinations of textures. We had the pork belly lettuce wraps, seafood tagliatelle, and a special. We also had excellent sazeracs. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. The place is very nice inside with a nice bar, and large windows along the whole length. We plan to go back when we are again in town.

We had a wonderful meal. So much care went into sourcing and preparing delicious ingredients and in making things in house. We started with the cheese and fruit plate which had an amazing selection of European cheeses. The fried chicken entree was beautiful and tasty and the halibut with risotto was disappeared without any effort at all! The ice cream bon bon and sorbet were packed full of flavour and presented beautifully. Justin looked after us with so much care.

This a terrific restaurant! Seriously good food and drink that is superbly and skillfully prepared. My wife and I lucked into it on the recommendation of a bellman when we recently arrived starving at our Portland hotel at 8:30pm. It was so good we made sure to return a week later after road tripping around Oregon. Annie Cuggino was a culinary heavy-hitter in New York City working for Danny Meyer before landing in Portland and it shows here. She's assembled a charming, warm, dark wood bar with tables and booths that opens into a modest sized restaurant. The bartending was experienced and skillful. Our drinks, Old Fashions and Vodka Gimlets, were righteous pours and delicious. The salads are creative and superb. A chanterelle flatbread was rich and delicious. The cioppino was full of seafood in a nicely spiced tomato broth. Be sure to ask for some grilled peasant bread to sop up the sauce. You'll want to. And and apple cobbler for dessert was absolutely scrumptious. The waitstaff both evenings were bright, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, especially Emmanuel whose friendliness and culinary knowledge were truly impressive. There were a few moments where things could have been more attentive, but during the pandemic every restaurant is somewhat short staffed. Otherwise, they were utterly delightful and friendly. Prices are not inexpensive, but the food is worth it. Even with all its very fine restaurants, Portland is fortunate to have this one. Great place, and Annie Cuggino clearly knows what she's doing. It really shows.

Booked in advanced, arrived about 20min late on July 4th as car parking in the area is very limited and we spent 30’ looking for a spot. We got rejected with no mercy. I struggle to understand a restaurant in downtown Portland that refuses two tourists with a reservation showing up with a delay in such situation. Restaurants here should be grateful that tourists still show up. Downtown Portland, where the restaurant is located, is full of drug addicts and homeless, overall the streets feel unsafe. a really unacceptable situation for any tourist coming from a developed country with welfare. Will not try to go again to this restaurant, will not go back to Portland either

Q Restaurant was near our hotel and was highly rated by this site, so we called them on short notice for a reservation. They were able to accommodate us, even though they were busy on this weeknight. The service was excellent, and the food lived up to the high expectations set but the review we had read. Overall an enjoyable meal and experience.

Phenomenal experience all the way around from starting drinks to desert. AMAZING! I had a local Porter but she had a "Girl from Empenita" which was a mixologist sensation. Next was a flavorful baguette (from local Grand Central bakery) then the Stuffed Roasted Green Chile (every bite a flavor explosion! The corn..THE CORN!) followed by the Gem Caesar Salad w anchovies (perfect). Then the entries: Osso Bucco and Grilled Marinatted Flat Iron Steak. We shared it all. OMG..they were beyond, Beyond. Chocolate Soufflé accompanied by Turkish coffee ice cream (they make their own) was chocolate cloud heaven. Watching the kitchen dynamic was an incredible show. Service was stellar...all I can say is 5 star..and JUST DO IT!

The skirt steak is to die for. Even cooked medium, it melted in my mouth and tore apart as I cut into it. Meanwhile the chili relleno accompanied by the cilantro and chipotle base salsa baste on the side was amazing. It was a travesty that the I ate it so quickly. The portions are more than enough to just feed on an entree alone.

This was the best food experience in Portland - amazing food with great attention to detail and lovely service. We ate at the ‘chef’s table’ facing into the kitchen was which was fun and fascinating. Do order the bacon wrapped dates to start - delicious! We were there for lunch and wanted to come back that night for dinner because everything on the menu looked equally delicious. Definitely get to this restaurant when you visit downtown Portland!

Q Restaurant & Bar provides outstanding food and service. I ordered bacon wrapped dates for my appetizer, Osso Buco for my entree, and piña colada tres leches cake for dessert. Each portion of my meal was exceptional. The Osso Buco the best I’ve ever had, and the tresleches dessert was unique and very flavorful. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, and my server was amazing, she was timely and attentive to all my dining needs. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will return the next time I’m in Portland.

Overpriced, terrible service. We made a reservation for 5:15pm, didn’t get seated until almost 5:30pm. Our waitress was no where to be seen for almost 20 mins. She finally came over and asked if we were headed to John Oliver at 7 and we said yes so she knew we were now tight on time. We ordered and then as she’s backing away from the table informs me the fried chicken I ordered would take at least 20 mins to cook and walked away. Didn’t bother to ask if I wanted to reconsider. It came across as though she thought it was funny. We got our meal and the chicken was terrible. For $38 I expect good chicken that’s not overcooked. We had been looking forward to dining here as we’d heard such great things. We noticed everyone at the bar was served quickly, politely and happily. So utterly disappointed with this very expensive meal. On a positive note, the other server that actually brought us our drinks was lovely and attentive as she could be. The decor is also very nice.

Q Restaurant in downtown is a hidden gem with friendly service, albeit a tad slow. The falafel was a standout, incredibly light and flavorful. I loved the ossobucco, a true delight. My daughter found the squid seafood pasta a bit underwhelming, but the barramundi with fruit sauce was a delicious surprise. Worth a visit for inventive and delicious food.

Different opinions from our group about this place, which i think came down to the dishes ordered. We all thought the appetizers that we shared were delicious- crispy spring rolls, plus a smoky calamari. I loved my fresh fish entree. What elevated these dishes was the clever use of fresh herbs in sauces that perfectly balanced everything. The dishes that weren’t winners were a hamburger that was a tad underdone, a too spicy soup, and a flavorless seafood stew like dish.
