My wife and I stopped here on a whim and couldn't have been happier. Each course was excellent, as we're the mixed drinks. Sit at the bar and watch the kitchen at work. They're incredibly in sync and it's like getting a great show alongside a top notch meal.

Two of us went here at 7 P.M. on a Saturday. I was seated promptly but then completely ignored for over ten minutes. I finally caught the eye of a bartender and waved him over in order to get a drink. Don''t know how long I might have sat there if I hadn't made that effort. The restaurant was not... More

LE PIGEON is justifiably Portland's top French-American restaurant with innovative cooking, but not so far away is BAR AVIGNON, an excellent wine bar with a lot of good wines by the glass, and a first-rate kitchen turning out excellent dishes that take full advantage of the bounty of the Pacific Northwest. The cuisine is strongly French-influenced. Eric Joppie, who was... More

We had heard about Bar Avignon and had it on the agenda to visit, but hadn't gotten there for whatever reason. Having recently been in Avignon, France, we thought this was the time. I am not a fan of trendy places; I expected a pretty trendy spot and, along with that, a so-so experience. I was dead wrong. The atmosphere... More

We were a group of 7 celebrating our son's birthday. We were pleased when the restaurant seated us in a separate area/wine room. It made our event close and more intimate. Our group was a mix of almost 60 year olds and 5 early 20 year olds. The "kids" enjoyed the artisan cocktails and the food was really good. We... More

My wife and I had dinner at Bar Avignon--we have wanted to eat there for some time. Everything was very well done. Very creative cooking, which we really like. Too full for dessert, though the dessert menu looks great.

Bar Avignon's small plates entice. The mussels are wonderful. The casual, comfortable atmosphere makes for a pleasant time. The wine list is really really good! I'll be back!

Sometimes you wonder if the really cool bar you're entering has the cool food to match. Well, Bar Avignon has both. First, the polite greeter will try to seat you, even though you don't have a reservation and they're booked. Then the cool, funny bartender will serve you drinks concocted from that "ultimate party scene drink book" you've always wanted... More

We stopped in after eating at the food trucks for cocktails. Their craft cocktails are made by real mixologist...not your vodka soda pouring bar tender. We ended up leaving a bit more tipsy than we would have liked because the drinks were delicious we had to try a few. Take Uber or Lyft
