Glad that my bnb was only 2 blocks from this wonderful spot! Cappuccino was excellent and the pastry was my favorite all time breakfast roll - a gihizzier (sp?).

It is my local coffee shop, so I may be biased... But I do drink coffee all over Portland, and nothing compares. It is delicious, smooth coffee that will wake you right-the-f@&k-up. There is no bad cup here. Espresso, drip, fancy coffees, they are all...More
Extracto is a neighborhood Portland coffee shop focusing on dark roasts. Their Ethiopian Sidama Bensa had notes similar to a much lighter roast. Best dark roast ever. Dog friendly and great breakfast options. Inside and outside seating.
Was so happy to find a neighborhood coffee shop. Would've settled for the caffeine. Instead, also enjoyed warm, friendly . . . downright kind service & attentiveness. My first Portland coffee shop experience. It won't be the last time I visit. Left alert & happy!

Superb coffee and good croissants. What more do you need from a true coffee house? The atmosphere is basic but friendly. A true neighborhood place that does not try to be anything it is not. It is not Starbucks, that's the best news.
Nice open space, very friendly staff, and really, really tasty coffee! Always happy to support a local roaster.
