I like they got lots of coffees from around the country. It's like a greatest hits of coffee and you can explore.

They know what they are doing here. Good local PDX coffee spot. I would suggest you never step foot in Starbucks in Portland, instead, go to great places like Barista instead!

After reading reviews for the top coffee in the Pearl, opted for trying both Barista and Black Rock, given the proximity. Barista is significantly better coffee, and seemed more friendly, but if you want atmosphere and still great coffee, bring your laptop to Black Rock. The coffee tasted fresher and smoother at Barista, and if I am looking for freshly... More

I ordered an extra hot latte that was served luke warm. When I mentioned that it wasn't extra hot, the barista took it from me, dramatically dumped it in the sink and said they'd make another one. They don't offer skim milk, only 2% or whole. The 16 oz latte was served in a pint glass, so they need to... More

Cup of coffee and refill and small pastry $6.25 + tip. I did not go for the tiny $8 quiche which they had no way to heat. No value proposition here.

After having heard so much and reading multiple reviews, we headed to Barista on NW 23rd Ave. We arrived just before 9 a.m...it was lovely and quiet with plenty of seating options, we even snagged a large booth! The fellow taking our order was very friendly (in our brief time here, a bit atypical for Portland baristas) and most helpful.... More

I had heard a lot about Barista and thought it unlikely to be that impressed with a latte. I was wrong. It was heaven. A perfect balance of milk to coffee. The espresso was incredibly smooth with chocolate and earthy tones. Definitely stop by for a memorable cuppa joe!

Best coffee in Portland! The cappuccino and espresso macchiato are excellent, the espresso coffee has the perfect strength and level of acidity. The atmosphere is really nice, and the place very chic, modern, and great to work or study.

Local Portland flavor abounds. The coffee was hot and tasty. I purchased a lemon flavored pastry and it was good. There are spots to plug in. Nice spot. Felt very trendy. Enjoyed my java.

Being from Ogden, Utah, my husband and I don't exactly have ready access to exceptional coffee houses. The lovely vanilla lattes we each had at Barista were oh, so easily the best we've ever enjoyed. While at Moonstruck Chocolates' NW 23rd Avenue location, the Portland-born clerk there advised us that this was her favorite coffee shop in the city. A... More
