I had the Pad Thai with tofu, the flavors where all there. One issue i had was that the spiciness level was not that spicy, at level 3 ( of 5). Luckily they have a spice rack you can request. My biggest concern was that the service was quite slow and that we were the only group (of 4) there.

We stopped by this small neighborhood Thai restaurant for a quick meal and enjoyed it very much. The flavors were incredible, the service good and our outdoors table was charming. We decided that on our next visit (yes, there will be a return!) we would order our meal with mild heat instead of he medium which we found pretty hot.

Had a very authentic Thai dinner, presentation, taste and speed were all exceptional. Staff was friendly, and price very reasonable. Had the Pad Thai, and spring rolls.

The food is excellent, but please note that their level of 'spicy' on the menu is one pepper on the hot side! Their 2 pepper medium is like most 'very spicy' levels!!!! The servers are a little hovering, but maybe we were there on a slow day and they had nothing else to do but come to our table every... More

We chose this restaurant because it received such positive reviews and was very close to our hotel. We were not disappointed- every dish we had was absolutely amazingly tasty and the service was quite good. This is a restaurant that we would recommend without a doubt!

My family and I ate many meals here at the beginning of the year. I left Portland in early March and am now back for a visit in July. Where did the former chef go? Or if there isn't a new chef, why did Chai Yo change the way they prepare meals? My favorite, Pad See Ew with tofu (Vegan... More

My wife, son, and daughter-in-law joined me for lunch at Chai Yo on a Monday afternoon. The food was quite good. I had the Fried Rice with tofu which was ordered with medium spice. It was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. Everyone liked their food, as well. Our server was efficient. Ambiance was comfortable. Eat there.

Cute little restaurant homey feel, pleasant waitress, butttt, food horrible. I had a "special" but was so salty you couldn't eat it and the salmon was so fishy it was terrible. Table next to me made same complaint. They did give 15% off, which amounted to the tip, but the one bite of the salmon and all I could do... More

I spent the month of February helping my daughters settle into their new Portland home. We enjoyed meals from this restaurant at least four times during my visit. And each time the food was consistent and awesome! We mostly got take-out, but dined in when another traveling family member met up with us. Since most of us eat Vegan, the... More
