I was not impressed with the Tug Boat Brewery. The service was inadequate. There was only 1 person in the Brewery to take orders, serve drinks, serve appetizers, and prepare checks. The beer (IPA) I had was good, but nothing memorable. I did not want to stick around for another beer due to the lack of service.

Looks like a dive when you first enter, but is decorated with an eclectic mix of used books, record sleeves, and oil paintings. Small menu of bar grub (mac & cheese, nachos, etc). When I went they had 4 of their own beers on tap and about 12 from other breweries. The selection leans toward breweries I have not yet... More

A bit of a hit and run for us, but was pleasantly surprised at the selection they had, super happy with the beers we choose and the atmosphere was moderately loud, no pressure, and comfortable

Tugboat has some good brews and they have books and games that you can enjoy while you are having a brew. The bartender dude was different. arrogant. made me not want to be there. Maybe try somewhere else.

When we arrive Thursday night 3 September there were about 50 of us in our group. We had stopped by to say that 50 of us were coming to this bar, but the bartender was not happy to see us. As a matter of fact, she refused to serve us a pitcher nor more than 1 beer at a time.... More

We stumbled upon this place after seeing it out of the windows of Bailey's Taproom. We curiously wandered into a mostly empty bar & sat down. The bartender, Linsel, immediately came over to offer us tastes of the housemade beer. Apparently we had walked into downtown's smallest brewery! Linsel was extremely friendly & easy to chat with. He offered great... More

Very small room, self-serve, friendly bar tender and decent ale. Unfortunately, very soon after we got in & found a table, the place filled to beyond capacity by what appeared to be a group on a pub crawl. We finished our drinks and left. The room was simply too small for such a large, noisy crowd. We’d likely go back... More

Very friendly staff, quick service and the beer was pretty damned good. Didn't eat there but what i saw and could smell was pretty good pub food, everyone who was eating was enjoying the fare. will make it a stop on my next visit.

This place offers beer (their own and that of other breweries) and some cider and wine options. They've got hummus and a few other decent happy hour choices. I think it's a fun place to spend a rainy afternoon or evening. It's dark and cozy inside and reminds me of an Irish pub. They have board games to play. Service... More

This place was tiny. It looked like the inside of someone's vacation cabin in the woods. There were a ton of board/card games and books lined the walls. There weren't a ton of draft beers, but the ones they had were good. Get the Chernobyl Stout; you won't be disappointed.

Very cozy, homey place. Smallest brewery in Portland. Ususally has four or five brews ready. Does sell product from other micro-breweries in Portland. Has finger food available. Very good Russian Imperial Stout. The bartender is philosophy graduate and engages in conversations easily. It is more like a neighborhood tavern. Waliking distance from all downtown hotels
