If you go to Huber's, the bar is architecturally interesting and creates a great (if noisy) place for a drink. The restaurant offers mediocre food. So basically, this is not a place to go for food, but is a landmark in Portland.

I am a 4th generation Oregonian and have places that not only do I love to go to , but is a must see for out of town guests. . This is one of them. Their Spanish coffees are a special treat! The drink is killer, only have one if you are driving. Delicious yes, but a behold to watch... More

Huber's was a step back into the 1940's with it's music and ambience. The food was mostly Italian. I had the Chicken Piccata and it was outstanding. The service was first rate and the wine was superb. This is a great dining spot if you want good food and want to enjoy the ambience of the 40's. I highly recommend... More

Make a reservation! They turned us away the first time we tried to dine here. But once we had a reservation, it was amazing. Be sure to order the Spanish Coffee - it is quite a presentation and delicious too! The turkey dinner is amazing and better than Grandma's best Thanksgiving dinner! Service was friendly and prompt, our water glasses... More

Sometimes you just HAVE to have turkey done the old fashioned way. Whole roasted turkey. Gravy. Mashed potatoes. Dressing. We opted for the full meal, so coleslaw sweet, tangy, not too gooey -- and bread pudding. Nothing beats moist, perfectly cooked turkey. This is the restaurant of my childhood. We eat in the old bar area with the vaulted stained... More

Not sure what Portland's affinity with turkey is. I am sure there is some history there somewhere. I do love turkey though and Huber's can deliver anyone's year round turkey fix. The food is great, the atmosphere is inviting and you just might see a flaming spanish coffee (I think that is what it was) at the next table. Huber's... More

Made reservations via OpenTable for 3, but arrived to a table for two on Christmas Eve. The hostess put two tables together, but one was higher than the other, which we had to endure. Server missed the mark in several ways, first by bringing one POT of tea, and a second CUP of tea, saying there were no more pots... More

We loved it, although the hostess couldn't have been more disinterested. The food was basic, well cooked, nice home style fare, and they had run out of rice (?) to go with the five spice pork, so we got mashed potato instead. Big servings, the waitstaff (except for the hostess) were lovely. It's a really nice old place.

Weekday dinner with family in the oldest reported restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Bar/dining room was very crowded and noisy and would be fun for a "night out on the town", but not for a family dinner or quite conversation on a date. Food was very good.

And boy was Hubers busy and LOUD at 4 pm! They make quite a production out of making a Spanish coffee and it was good! The tables seemed a little too close for comfort and patrons and employees had to maneuver between them.
