We went for brunch, the interior was beautiful but the food was average. My smoked salmon benedict was luke warm and they needed to toast the english muffin so the hollandaise didn't make it soggy. My daughters french toast was just okay.

While I'm thrilled to hear the atmosphere was able to leave a great impression, I'm sorry the food wasn't able to do the same. I only hope you give us another chance in the future so that we can show you the five-star experience you deserve. Best wishes, Bruce Carey Owner More

Beautiful, upmarket restaurant with interesting menu and good staff. Only complaint is that other staff members did not try to help our waiter who was struggling to keep up with our 12+ group. Otherwise, a good experience.

We were celebrating our half-aversary on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was not crowded (hint - go on a Sunday evening), and we were given ample time to sit and sip before ordering. We both had the agnolotti pasta with red and white wine (different strokes...). These were simply handmade pasta pillows in an oil and garlic sauce, but nevertheless... More

Used to go here before I moved from Portland, had a really bad experience a few months ago. We came in later and their menu was very limited. Once they served our food, we realized that it wasn't what we ordered. Apparently, they ran out of what we ordered and substituted without letting us know. They also charged us for... More

Bluehour was recommended to me by some local Portland people. It is fien dining, French style. I really appreciated that the server (in my case Alison) was totally professional and warm, did not rush me through me my meal as too often occurs in the US (even at fine dining establishments) and was totally attentive to my needs. the food... Decided to try Bluehour for Brunch this past Sunday. Bluehour did not disappoint! Great food, drinks and service! The Mac & Cheese was excellent and my husband had the Duck Confit Benedict which was also wonderful! I highly recommend Bluehour for a great dinning experience. Looking forward to trying them for dinner too! Thank you!

We were a large party and happened to hear about Bluehour. The place gets high marks. The decor and set up is fabulous. The menu is not complicated which told me something special happens in the kitchen. We were very very happy. The food is first rate and prepared with an impressive presentation. 3rd night in Portland and thus place... More

This was our second visit to Bluehour and we were not disappointed. Our waiter, Brook, took care of our every request with a smile on his face. Even though he had other tables we always felt like we were his only customers. The food was delicious and we are so glad we saved room for dessert! You won't go wrong... More

Service is excellent and atmosphere is quite lovely. Our server brought apres bites for us to sample. None of them were amazing but the presentation was very good and added to the overall experience. The cocktails are expertly mixed and delicious. I had sea bass and was very pleased. It was cooked to perfection. All in all, if you're looking... More

This fancy place has a great burger , with a real smoke flavor. $8 for burger with blue cheese and bacon, $4 for fries, $4 for draft beer, a bit more but much better than some other popular places. If you come after happy hour they still have a burger and fries for $15 and I think the draft is... More

Description
Bluehour means different things to different people. In French literature it describes any time of day "of heightened emotion." In Portland it has come to mean "a great place to dine." As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual cafe and bar. Simple, delicious and classic describes the Mediterranean cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, but Bluehour standards remain, like the pillowy potato gnocchi with black truffle and the perfectly seared, bacon wrapped sea scallops. Our cheese cart is among the finest on the West Coast, featuring regional and international artisan cheeses.
