Papa Haydn is a Portland institution but really can't understand why. Portland is littered with great restaurants but this isn't one of them (although it used to be). I ordered the green chili risotto because vegetarian options were lacking. Green chili and risotto do not go together. My friend ordered the butter lettuce salad and French onion soup. She couldn't... More

We have dined at Papa Haydn's at least 100 times and always been pleased with the quality of food. Of course, they are also very well known for their fabulous desserts. Another nice factor is that the noise level is never overbearing and you can hear all the conversations at your table.

First of all, this was not my first time at Papa Haydn. I decided to get lunch in between shopping this last weekend of January. Now I do agree that dining solo can be challenging, because I always feel as though the service is not at its fullest. I'm often forgotten. That was definitely the case here. I ordered wine... More

Had lunch with husband on a cold, wet winter day. Seated near the fireplace (there was room which was nice). Enjoyed salad and great sandwiches. And of course, dessert afterwards. Really, everything there (including service) is JUST TOP NOTCH. You can't go wrong at this place. Will eat in the bar area next time as it's a little quieter but... More

Papa Haydn’s is our favorite place for desserts after the symphony. They have a beautiful display of lovely deserts. I enjoyed the Baked Alaska. It’s a real treat. Another of my favorites is the Summer Champagne Cake with ice cream. Looking forward to many future visits.

We had New Year's Eve dinner at Papa Haydn and it did not disappoint. Our server was very attentive, professional and knowledgeable. Our courses were well timed, we didn't have to wait long, but we were also not rushed. Everything was cooked to our request and were delicious! They have fabulous desserts as well!

We were at Papa Haydn's for a late lunch during the holidays. The entrees were delicious especially the risotto and the salad with chickpeas. Our server was most accommodating especially since we had a 3 year old who was in need of a nap. Will go back soon.

We stopped in after shopping Seems high end but had no trouble accommodating us and two small children. And oh my goodness, that dessert counter. Heavenly.

I went here with my girlfriend and we had a nice dinner out. The food was delicious at an OK price, but after we finished we were already on 23rd and had a nice place to walk around afterwards.

This was our restaurant destination, and selected by our sister and brother-in-law. A small and quaint restaurant that was absolutely delicious! Great service' friendly and knowledgeable and attentive. Dinner consisted of cocktails, appetizers and shared entrees, as well as 2 delightful desserts to top things off. The appetizers were bruschetta and french fries with a hint of curry - unusual... More
