McMenamins is a nice bar for a few beers and some pool, but the menu is very limited. We stopped here since it was close to our hotel and had a beer, but after looking at the menu (limited to mostly sandwiches and burgers), we elected to eat somewhere else for dinner. However, still a nice place for a beer... More

My son and I met a friend for lunch, who had suggested that we meet at the McMenamins on the northern end of 23rd. Apparently McMenamins is a fairly large chain and there is a second McMenamins further south on 23rd. The menu offers what I would describe as pub food - burgers, fries, sandwiches and salads - that are... More

I was going out for lunch with my 93 y/o aunt and her first choice,American Local, was not open till dinner, so we headed over to NW Portland and found the Crystal Ballroom complex, but nowhere to park within easy walking distance. So we headed up to 23rd NW and checked that out, down past where the explosion was last week, and found... More

Oh yeah, the fries are terrific to say the least. We travel to Portland several time each year and we always eat here at least once. Sometimes we just have a couple micro brews and fries, nothing else required. Kids menu is adequate and plenty of adult options. Always daily specials that deserve a look. Don't let the pool table... The staff are good, they have great beer, good pub food except the fish and chips aren't great. The price is good.

This place is like a museum! We were here just to try some beers. The selection was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the beers we sampled and selected to drink.

Tried the blackberry cider at the server's recommendation and it was terrific. Not very hungry so had a veggie plate-- not much on the plate, but it was fresh and tasty. But the hummus was tasteless and quite awful. Server was attentive and my companion loved her salad. Would def go again.

Loved the Portland Dip (turkey) sandwich with garlic au jus. Their tater tots are an institution in Portland. Try mixing the beers, like Ruby and Terminator

They have shuffle board and pool. Standard setup and menu. They do have an extensive cider selection though.

Agreeable location, with various environments, decorated in traditional style with good beer and quality food at a good price served by dedicated people.
