Had a "date night" dinner with my partner at Oba last night. It was fantastic! We started with spicy caipirinhas accompanied by queso fundido. We then each had an Oba Caesar salad. I had the NY strip steak and my partner the mahi mahi for the main course. We both enjoyed a nice glass of wine with dinner and finished... More

Like Sheryl below, we usually hit Oba's bar for dinner. The dining room menu is available there, but the real value and fun menu is the happy hour which generously runs til 6:30pm in the early eve. With most HH items under $10, you can experience the Cuban inspired kitchen with several flavors. Any of the taco options are safe... More

Thank you FoodieWineFun for the great review. My letting me know what you like about Oba I can give feedback to our Great team!! And on another important note, the Swordfish is BACK as a mainstay on our dinner menu. Looking forward to seeing you back soon, please ask for me. Sincerely Steve McLain More

This is by far my favorite spot for dinner in downtown. The ambience is amazing and great for romantic dinners or girls night out. The private dining room is spectacular which is where I had my 40th birthday party. Private bartender and servers. We did appetizers all night and the room was large enough for everyone to mingle & dance.... More

We had dinner in the Oba dining room. Interesting deco - bright and festive and different. Our server was very nice and friendly and helpful. She really knew the food and wines. Service was great, except one of our entree's was mis-ordered in the Kitchen, so one of our foursome sat for 15+ minutes while her rack of lamb was... More

We went to Oba because of their advertised Portland Dining Month offerings, we had the prawns and carne asada, both were beautifully presented and delicious. The salad before and desert after were also great additions to the meal.

We had a large group and this place still did an outstanding job making it seem like we were just a small, intimate group. The service was accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable and the food was fresh and delicious! I had the veggie enchiladas and was blown away! Yum!!! The cocktails were refreshing and delicious as well!!

I've been going to Oba for years and it stays consistent. While the food is always average or slightly better, it's never been bad. And the blood orange margarita is to die for. I typically just do the bar, not the restaurant. Lots of seating and good service.

The steak was perfect and went really well with the chipotle/horseradish sauce. It had nice atmosphere and I liked the margarita as well.

Oba provides a variety of food options with a Cuban flare. Options include fish, steak, or vegetarian. My favorite dish there has been the macadamia crusted swordfish, but it was recently discontinued. If you are there for dinner try the guacamole made at your table and a house margarita. You can't go wrong with either no matter your main entrée.... More
