The big fancy places could learn a thing or two here. (ahem, Matador) These are the taco's that inspired the taco meme's you see on FB. Corn and flour tortillas appear to be freshly handmade, five different sauces to choose from of varying hot-ness, the mildest one being the verde-my favorite! I like the asada and carnitas tacos, next time... More

We've been to San Felipe on Milwaukie Ave. several times and have been thoroughly impressed each time. We've tried the burritos, enchiladas, tacos and Camerone Dinner. All were superb!

Great food to go. Amazing sauce on the fish tacos. Beans and rice make a good meal in itself! They serve mixed drinks in addition to beer and authentic Mexican bottled soda. I wish they were open on Sundays.

Stopped again with family member to eat at taquiria. Usually get food to go like their giant stuffed burritos. The fish burrito is especially good. We had vegi taco salad w/avocado, fish taco plate, tamale plate, and burrito (wet) plate with sodas and Nantucket lemonade. Reasonable price for 4 people. Picked carrots, onion and pickled hot peppers on the side... More

Wow, what a find. Nicely tucked away in the southeast sector of Portland, OR is this authentic Mexican cafe owned and operated by a delightful lady named Shamady, who really is from San Felipe, Mexico. The food is excellent, most particularly the fish tacos. I do not make this recommendation lightly as I consider myself a long- term and true... More

Craving some nachos the other night, I walked up to this restaurant, close to where I was housesitting. I had them add chicken and ate them for two meals. Delicious! Selwood is host to quite a few restaurants serving Mexican food, and San Felipe is TOO good. They also have a great selection of beers and alcohol, the house margarita... More

This little taquiera has wonderful authentic Mexican food. The fish taco is out of this world, I wish they bottled the sauce. The portions are large and the food comes out quickly. The staff is friendly.

Yes, it is true! The original owners are back and the food is once again amazing and fresh! We travel a fair amount and are always on the look-out for some good fish tacos. Their fish tacos are by far the best of any we have tried! Friendly service, hot food, endless chips and salsa, a great Happy Hour menu,... More
