I went to Katie O'Brien's first time because I wanted some beer. Katie's is totally unpretentious and absolutely comfortable. Customers sit in big, swivel armchairs at the bar instead of on tall stools! Elsewhere, there are plenty of tables and booths with regular seating. A dozen TVs on the walls make it popular with sports fans, and at least two... More

I have no idea why they would be on the menu of a dive bar (I liked the dive bar part of it). Awful. They were deep fried-first time I saw that-only ones I've ever seen are steamed or baked. Inside a teensy bit of tasteless pork, slightly more taste than the greasy outside part. We go there off and... More

Make no mistake, the boozy atmosphere is real. This isn't a corporate joint, and hopefully it'll never be in central casting's list of bars. It's got it's highlights and its detractors, but it's a real place for a decent drink and some grub. Don't go raising your expectations, just accept what is produced, and Katie's will never leave you hanging.... More

Has a great authentic feel. I thought the bar had a Tarantino feel which I liked. Staff were relaxed and friendly. Drinks and food served in large portions. Good for chilling after work or meeting friends to watch a game or just chill out.

Eggs Benedict over crumbled corned beef. Wow! Good coffee. Service with a smile. Pull your executive desk rolling chair right on up to the bar and tilt back to watch the game when your finished eating. Service with a smile. Most comfortable I've ever been watching a game other than in my home. Great beer selection but beer seems to... More

These burgers were so good didn't even have time for a pic. Very meaty, seasoned great and came with a generous portion of fries. Multiple craft cold beers. (We are in Portland :) Looking for a good burger and not in a rush, this is the place for you!

Great craft beers , always a special of the day. Hamburgers are good priced at about five bucks. French dips run around 7.50. Breakfasts are well priced. Bacon eggs toast and coffee basic but the bloody Mary's blow it over the top. Happy hours are like 3.00 for a well drink. Fun place to visit. Could do a little to... More

I'm only giving this place 4 stars because my experience of it is limited to breakfast (many times), whereas really it's more of a night-time place...they do have an excellent ale selection, but I don't generally imbibe at breakfast... Portland suffers from a lack of decent breakfast places...emphasis on the word "decent." There are LOTS of places that serve breakfast... More
