My dad had talked about this place for years. We finally convinced him to include us. It's only open a few days a week , you have to make advance reservations, and it's quite a drive, but well worth it. Arrive early and play horse shoes while you wait. The steak portions are huge, which accounts for the meat only... More

Just like everytime, wonderful food and service. Beautiful, quiet part of the state. Definitely will go back. Best steak in Central Oregon, especially for the price

I have heard about this place for years so finally decided to include this in a road trip. It was everything we expected: huge portions, terrific décor, nice staff, a real experience. We wisely packed a cooler for leftovers. My favorite thing was the rolls; my husband is still talking about the beans. My only regret was not going in... More

Make reservations in advance and plan for a long road trip but it is worth it. Starts with salad and homemade dinner rolls then goes on to bean soup and corn chowder. Followed by a 30 ounce steak or whole chicken and baked potato. Finish off with an amazing dessert. Everything was amazing and the staff is very kind and... More

Visiting my dad this summer he said this was The place to go! I thought he was exaggerating the portion sizes and the home style feel of the place but if anything he under explained. All the food was amazing!! And everyone who worked there made us all feel so welcome. Totally worth the drive out there... I came all... More

First off, come HUNGRY. The steak is amazing. Mine was the size of a small football. Seriously! Huge portions, delicious home style food, and excellent customer service makes this a must try. It is totally worth the drive! You must make reservations and the price tag might give you sticker shock at first but I was eating leftovers for 2... More

After hearing so much about this place, I decided I had to go. The place isn't in the middle of nowhere but you can almost see it from there, about 45 miles from LaPine, Oregon. The hype is not just hype - this place is amazing. Reservations are a must - without them you will be turned away form the... More

We love going here. The food is excellent, and served family style. We usually go as a group of friends, but they do a great job of accommodating both large or small groups or couples. Be aware it is remote, and services are primitive.

One of the remotest gems in Oregon. This was or first time here, but will definately return. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. Reservations only and cash only. You have only 2 choices, a whole chicken or a 2 pound steak Bbq to perfection. The meal comes with fresh salad with homemand dressings, the best beans you will... More

Friends took me to the Cowboy Dinner Tree before my return flight. I couldn't imagine before I got there why anyone would drive so far to get to a restaurant; but, once there, I knew. The decor was very, very unique and the food delicious and more than plentiful. It was a real treat.
