We enjoyed two different types of pizza. The service was great and the quality of the food was fantastic. The place has some interesting history. It used to be a storage room for wood during the proabituon.

The Blue Ox is only open on weekends. It's small and intimate, and contrary to at least one other review there is no view (it's buried). Still, the staff is friendly, there's a nice vibe including the music, and the food, at least the pizza is quite good.

It's small, cute place. Limited menu but everything is good. Had the three cheese pizza for lunch: excellent and quick.

This place is tiny, but the pizza is GREAT. The lodge is a wonderful piece of history and the Blue Ox is no exception.

Good service, very small and not a lot of food offerings. We enjoyed it for an apres ski beer, though.

Literally. It was a bit odd. I ordered exactly the same salad as I had the day before elsewhere at Timberline. Still good but half the size for the same price! Server worked it out so all good. But a little odd. Pizza came "creole style" (edges pretty burnt). If we weren't so hungry, we would have sent that back,... More

After dragging our 14K pound bumper pull trailer up the road from the 'main' highway, we explored the fascinating info about this WPA built lodge and then decided to eat. Had great service and a beautiful view to the east overlooking the veranda where FDR dedicated it in 1937. We each ordered the corn chowder in a bread bowl and... More

The Blue Ox Bar is Great. It serves beverages and pizza; so it is informal and it is very small. It also closes at 8 PM. The pizza is Great --- hand thrown, great cheeses; though a limited number of toppings. Still, it was very tasty. The Blue Ox Bar is the place to come together after a day of... More

One small pizza was enough for 2 people and take-away. Had left over for dinner next day. Highly recommend.

Tucked away just behind Timberline Lodge's main lobby, the Blue Ox Bar is a favorite watering hole steeped in history and tradition. This cozy hole-in-the-wall offers a comfortable reprieve from a day on the mountain, a warm place to grab a slice and a brew. Once you find the Blue Ox Bar, you'll find it hard to leave!

Timberline Lodge was built in 1937 by Oregonians of the Depression Era under the WPA. The Lodge was nearly finished when it was noticed that there was no bar. Improvising architects altered a space designed for wood storage to create the Blue Ox Bar. The recently restored glass mosaic murals illustrate the well known Paul Bunyon legend and his beloved blue ox, Babe.
The Blue Ox Bar menu features hand tossed pizza and other delectable snacks in a cozy lodge atmosphere. Thirsty? Try a handcrafted microbrew from the Mt Hood Brewing Co or a signature Blue Ox Bar cocktail. Whatever you do...Don't write or carve on the tables!
