We took their boat service from Sandy Ground at about 11am, put in our order for a lobster and an order of ribs, went snorkeling for a little over an hour and our food was ready shortly after we dried off. First, the snorkeling at Sandy Island is one of the best snorkeling spots on Anguilla (Little Bay is probably number 1). No turtles, but lots and lots of coral and fish. Second, the lobster was amazing. It was huge and tasted so fresh - just perfect. Third, the view and just knowing that you are on a tiny island surrounded by clear turquoise water is breathtaking. Combine all three, and it was one of my favorite vacation experiences EVER.

We had a great time! JoJo picked us up and took us for a quick ride over to the island. Yes the drinks are $$ ( everything in Anguilla is) but they were very good and strong! Yes it’s $40 a person to go there- they told us up front and that was fine for us. Ask questions before you go and look at the menu- they aren’t hiding anything? It’s an awesome experience like being on a sandbar in the middle of the ocean. Would go again for sure!

We were in the middle of a small island with a small restaurant and a DJ, and we had a lovely time. The ambiance was festive, and thanks to the boat shuttle schedule, it was easy to get to and from the island. It's not everyday that you get to enjoy an experience like this, and we highly recommend checking it out!

Huge ripoff! My husband and I had 2 lobsters and 5 rum punch- per the menu total bill should have been $160 plus $20 for the boat ride. Then add 15% service of $27, should total $207.00. They charged us $276.00 which they charged to us just as the boat was leaving, so we didn’t notice their gouging until we got home. We enjoyed Omarie Bankx music but this over charging is a tourist nightmare and grossly irresponsible. Beware...too late for us but perhaps not for you.

Went here for lunch, although the food was great my issue is not with the food or service but how they ripped us off and were shady about going over the bill with us. We had 3 drinks, one grilled shrimp and fish lunch and one rib lunch and they charged us $208!!! Absurd! That’s a little less than we pay for dinner in NYC!! When I questioned the man about the bill he was brief and shady about it. I asked if service charge was included which he said no. On top of the rip off my boyfriend tipped him an extra $30 bc we were on a rush to get back on the boat and he claimed no service charge was added. They are a big RIP OFF and take advantage of tourists, especially when they know you are in a rush to get back on your boat. Dinner at Straw hat was way cheaper and we ordered more things. STAY AWAY! Go to prickly pear for lunch instead. The rest of my trip was ruined after this experience. I hate tourist traps! Not cool!

Beautiful setting and mostly nice staff. We viewed the food menu and made our choices. ~70 euro per person for bbq dish. The food was good. Beer was 9 euro, reasonable… When we received our bill for 6 persons. 6 meals, 4 beer and 8 margaritas (45 euro each). WTF!!!!!!! Our tab was 935 euro. Buyer be ware. This is a tourist trap. They did not have the decency to tell us that they sell the most expensive drinks in the Caribbean. When we took exception to the bill, the staff scattered like chickens.

Great drinks done by Roger! roger and the guys are great! He is always ready to suggest and create the best drinks for you at the bar. The place is beautiful, white sand and turquoise water, possible to snorkel but not many fishes. Worth the visit anyway.

We took a group outing one day to this fabulous place and the food and drinks were amazing! So fun to sit out in the ocean like you’re on a deserted island 🌴.

take a boat to Sandy Island for a few hours - nice snorkeling - very small island - good food, and good Pina Coladas served!

Worst experience ever. Looks great but would recommend that you not go to this location. Family in a chartered boat, which was great, and decided to visit for lunch. Was there 90 minutes with no food, no service, and no communication. Could have just been the day, but my goodness it was terrible. Don’t go ever!!!!!!!!

Sandy Island has to be on your list of visits while in Anguilla. The island is beautifully set up with a bar and restaurant and often there will be a band playing. The lobster was the best I have eaten anywhere and the staff were helpful and friendly. Transfers are available from Sandy Ground.

We were here in 2017 before Irma. We had a wonderful time on the island and at the restaurant. They’ve rebuilt. We unfortunately didn’t have a good time in March 2019. Maybe the word is out on the island and they can’t handle the crowds? Maybe we just got lucky last time with it not being crowded? I don’t know, but it wasn’t the same experience. The complaints I’ve read about the price of food is unwarranted. It’s Anguilla. No, it’s an island off Anguilla, so I don’t know how anyone can’t expect to pay a premium. The food is good. Complaints about the food are unwarranted. It’s island BBQ good. We liked it again this time. The problems are with the fact that the restaurant isn’t well managed. It’s a shame. The fixes wouldn’t be that hard. I hope they address them soon before too many people get turned-off. The restaurant easily becomes overwhelmed, especially if too many private boats arrive. Toss in that some people have figured out they can preorder their meals (private charters), and it ruins the time for those not in the know. Imagine ordering your meal to see someone who arrives long after you get their food first. When we arrived we heard numerous people complaining about the wait times and trying to cancel their orders. We thought they were just not used to island time and needed to chill out. We learned otherwise the hard way. It’s one thing to wait island time for your food or drink. It’s quite another to wait in line forever to order and then an hour or more for the food. Picture that for the most part of the day they had only one person handling all customer service. From time to time another person would jump in to help, but the poor woman was doing everything from taking orders, mixing drinks, running orders back to the kitchen, taking payments and dealing with frustrated customers. Not her fault, but she bore the brunt. They were understaffed and didn’t utilize the personnel they had effectively. Hopefully, they’ll fix things soon. They have the location. They have good food. The customers going there generally expect to pay up. In return, however, the customers expect things to be run decently. Easy fixes, so I’m crossing my fingers they do it because I’d like to visit again. P.S. - If they want to make a little more cash to afford additional help just rent out umbrellas for the day. Inexpensive items like that are clear misses on getting more revenue to improve things.

We took a private charter for lunch here after sailing around the island. Small island and not much shade but the sand and water is unlike anything you will experience on the mainland. This is deserving of 5 stars as the food is almost as good as the views!
