Anguilla is known as the “Foodie Island of the Caribbean ” so make Veya a stop on your tour of restaurants.
First the restaurant is on the second level from a bar area and is all open air so you feel like you are eating dinner in a treehouse. The ambiance is soft lighting, romantic a high end feel with laid back Caribbean attitude.
The staff is like a well rehearsed orchestra with not just one server but several constantly making sure you have everything you need. The house made breads are not something you will want to pass up on this case and a cup of pepper soup was a nice sweet sample to our meal.
This was definitely our priciest meal on the island but we felt worth it. Unique atmosphere and dishes made this a great stop.

It took us 20 Anguilla visits to finally make reservations at Veya and I am so glad to now know personally what all of the hype is about. From the warm and welcoming staff to the lovely setting in the trees, it was a special night right away. We were given pre dinner treats of small potions of Asparagus soup (amazing) and an assortment of home made breads/Johnny cake. Our main courses were crayfish with vegetable stir fry and jerk tuna. Everything was expertly and uniquely prepared. The crayfish was served with a curry sauce on the side which is the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. The crayfish themselves were tender, melt in my mouth morsels of deliciousness which really did not need a sauce or the melted butter also provided but oh that sauce!! We enjoyed a lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio and ended the night with key lime pie in a jar and chocolate bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream. Veya is definitely deserving of all the accolades.

After hearing the rave reviews we finally visited last night. I had perused the menu on line and knew choosing my order would be difficult as everything appealed. We discovered that a 5 course tasting was offered with paired wines and our decision was made. Fantastic! Tuna tartare, Lobster and crayfish risotto, spiced tuna, lamb Popsicle and finally a dessert plate with 5 seducing sweets. All dishes were excellent and the serving size more than ample. The chefs husband/partner, Jerry, delivered the dishes along with the paired wine with appreciated knowledge and brevity. The space is lovely the staff attentive. Please do not miss Veya, Anguilla is full of good restaurants, this one is SPECIAL. Thank you chef Carrie.

After several days of stormy weather, the crayfish had finally arrived again on the island. We called Veya a day in advance and they said they would definitely have crayfish. I called them 90 minutes prior to our reservation and they said they definitely still had crayfish. When we got there 90 minutes later we were told they were out of crayfish. We were very angry. Manager then went into the kitchen and came back saying she located four crayfish. So we decided to stay. When our dinner came out, they were two crayfish when a meal should consist of three crayfish each. So my wife and I had to split two crayfish. If they had simply been honest with us, we would not have gone. So take what they say with a grain of salt. It is also a very pricey restaurant as everything is à la cart. We won’t go back.

This was by far our best dining experience in Anguilla....from the food, ambience and service. The menu is unique, and all of the food just outstanding. We went on crayfish Wednesday, and the crayfish melted in your mouth. Can’t wait to go back!

I still maintain that Carrie’s tasting menu in 2006 was one of the best meals I have every had. Tonight was a very different experience.
The wait staff was disorganized no one seemed to be in charge of our table. Reminded me of TSA or thousands standing around.
Had to ask for a menu, then ask for bread after a one hour wait for the appetizer.
Advertising stated a lobster 3 ways on Saturday but no one knew anything about that.
Another 45 minutes and we were asking where our entree was.
We both had our hearts set on the lobster. Unfortunately it was under seasoned and tough.
The disorganization is evident in that our bill from the lounge downstairs was to be transferred to our bill, it was not and I did not notice until later. So Jerry I owe you a drink.

!We just had dinner at a Veya and it was amazing. They hit all three components of a great restaurant. The place is beautiful, dining is on the second floor set back in a nursery. The food was some of the best I have ever had in the Caribbean. The tuna with the grilled, spiced pineapple was absolutely delicious! Their bread plate with johnny cake, pumpkin and banana breads was unbelievably good. And the service was terrific. We must have had six really nice, really professional service people looking after us. Not intrusive, perfect. Very nice, laid back live music, a good wine list. It all combined for a very, very nice evening and a really nice dinner. Highly recommended.

On arrival at Veya there had been a mix-up and the staff couldn´t find our booking on midsummer´s eve. We were shown a table in the back with a view of the changing and delivery area for the staff. I was not amused, since this was the ONLY top class dining place we chose in three weeks on Anguilla due to the general cost level. AND it was Mid summer, which is an important day for us Swedes, AND our honeymoon. We were changed to another table with no fuss but no excuses or pardons, either.
Veya is not a cheap restaurant, but their tasting menu for USD 75 is surprisingly good and att a very good value for money. The owner came out herself and presented her slipper lobsters. Excellent service throughout the meal from our server, who lived in Island Harbour, just as we do, and from the sommelier. Solid presentations of beautiful courses. Reasonable wine package, But USD 370 including tax and tip for two, Nevertheless, we would go back in a heartbeat next time we are on the island in spite of that.

There's a lot of really great food on Anguilla and everyone should sample widely. Veya is exciting food in the way that a great restaurant in NY or LA is exciting. So, for you foodies, a quick rundown of the tasting menu Chef Carrie Bogar graced us with: 1) Mahi crudo with yuzu and orange oil. 2) Salmon in a spinach puree with harissa. 3) Sea lice in a ginger Beurre Blanc sauce. 4) Lamb for me, duck for my wife (I'm not a big duck guy) 5) Assortment of tasty desserts including a killer key lime pie and lots of chocolate delights. All of this expertly paired with wines by Jerry Bogar.
We also stopped in a couple of evenings for the live music, cocktails and small plates downstairs at Mezze. It's a great way to get a more casual experience at Veya and still get a taste of the kitchen's high standards.

We fell in love with Veya! The ambiance is truly unique and special, as you're basically dining in a gorgeous treehouse with ample greenery surrounding you. Our server was so warm, kind, lovely, and funny, and we enjoyed plenty of laughter with her throughout the evening. The wine list was impressive, and the food was absolutely mind-blowing. In fact, everything was so amazing that we booked a second reservation for dinner before we left the first one. Across both nights, my husband enjoyed the fish soup and the crudo to start, as well as the grilled crayfish and the mahi mahi. I enjoyed the leafy green salad and the Indian spiced yellow pea soup to start and the roasted potato, cauliflower, and tofu, as well as the roast portabella mushroom. For desert, we were treated to chocolate malt, roasted banana, and vanilla ice cream. My husband and I were in gustatory heaven, and he had the best crayfish he's ever tried. Not only that, with Meze (which is connected to Veya)n right downstairs, we enjoyed live music throughout our meal. It was lovely! Definitely make a point to come here!

Just back from dinner. No f****king light on the sign? Drove past it . Ended up on a winding one way dirt road. Used the GPS by the way. Yet a million watts of light in the parking lot. Idiots.
So the food was good....not great . $60 USD per person for local crawfish/lobster.
Wow.
Honestly the island can do better than this.
We ate here years ago..still not worth the effort.

The food was good and the live music made it even better but it was dark and the service wasn’t as good as some other restaurants on Anguila. The little soup bowls they started with were especially delicious. Overall it was an okay night.

Cab fare from Cap Juluca was a bit pricey, but this place was worth it. Extremely well prepared food and efficient service (perhaps a bit too efficient but nothing to detract from the meal). I think it would be hard to find anything on the menu that would not be outstanding. Met the chef/owner, Carrie, who stopped by our table, and found her charming (and quite talented). The bar downstairs offers small plates and drinks along with live and very, very good music. We spent a very happy time downstairs while waiting for our cab to arrive. This is a must stop when visiting the island.

It is expensive and probably not for children but the food is wonderful and the service is outstanding. The service may well be the best on Anguilla and the atmosphere is very unique. My wife had the whole Red snapper and I had buttered lobster. Both were excellent.

We just returned from Anguilla (March 8-13) for 5 nights. We had some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The Veya restaurant was one of the top restaurants we ate dinner for several reasons: 1. excellent jazz live music with “Louis Armstrong” sounding trumpet, guitar Caribbean sound mix (hard to describe)— Some of the other restaurants we visited, the music was way too loud but at Veya it was just perfect—echoing out over a beautiful garden, with a koi pond below. 2. We ate upstairs on a romantic balcony that is like a treehouse in the treetops. A nice cool breeze was blowing with the music down below—it was totally enjoyable. 3.The food was excellent. They had a good selection of local seafood including snapper, lobster and tuna. Desserts were elegant, I had a trio of crème brûlée (coconut, vanilla, thyme). We cannot recommend Veya restaurant enough including the wait staff and Chef. There is a nice bar, loved the architecture—Elegantly designed and built.
