We have had many great steak dinners in our life but this one may have been one of the best. We both had the bone in ribeye which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Creme brulee was creamy and made a wonderful dessert.

This is my once a year treat. The steaks are better than Morton's or Ruth Chris and that is saying a lot as they are both excellent. The sides are large and delicious. Typically three of each order a different side and then share. It...More
We were on our honeymoon at Bedford Springs and decided to eat here as a treat to us. It is pricey ( a shock to my husbands McDonalds style spending) but the food was fantastic. We had the crab app, a spring mix salad and...More
We had another great dinner at restaurant 1796! We were expecting fancy, dress up environment. Totally surprised they is was very laid back, comfortable. No tablecloths, rusty flatware. Overall, service was very nice and attentive and the tasting menu was great too!
I think I ate some of the best food I've ever had while dining there. The menu choices, service, food and wine were all above reproach! I would dine there again in a hearatbeat.

The menu offers a wide variety of choices and is great for gluten free. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The fish (I had the Ahi Tuna) was terrific. The dessert menu is extensive and delicious.
We've eaten here probably 8 times and all good meals but frankly it's kind of expensive, especially after you have already paid the heavy freight for a room at Bedford Springs.
Great meal, but a little pricey. Definitely a high end steak house in a historic setting. Make your reservations early as it is not a huge place and reservations are limited in the popular hotel restaurant.
