Have dined at The Blue Bell before and make it a point to come back. Love the atmosphere particularly the long wraparound bar. As usual the food was excellent and I cannot get enough of their bread. Service was excellent and very helpful with selections. Went with roasted half chicken which was cooked to perfection. Skipped dessert due to too... More

If you're looking for a fine meal in the suburbs of Philadelphia, the Blue Bell Inn is a good bet. I found absolutely nothing to criticize here, and I greatly enjoyed the meal and service. I had fried oysters as an appetizer. Just three of them served on their shells for $14, but worth it. For the main course I... More

All main entrees were mostly well prepared, especially the seared tuna (ordered medium) and the seafood pasta. The braised short rib seemed overcooked. The beet salada A Lisa had just three pieces of beet, so it was more green than red, that was a disappointment. The apple crisp pie for dessert was fabulous and large enough so that two people... Had a very nice dinner here with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. It is a delightful place, very charming and very packed xmas eve. I had the salmon, my daughter the rack of lamb, her husband the rib-eye and we were all very satisfied. Service is good and the prices are very reasonable for what you are getting. Definitely reccomend... More

Lunch on the eve of Christmas is always reserved for a special restaurant for a family gathering. We look not only for excellent cuisine, but a restaurant that echoes the spirit of the holiday season. We got everything we wished for at The Bluebell Inn. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server couldn't have been more attentive and charming.... More

My wife and I were staying in Ft. Washington, which is nearby. Our Hotel recommended this place for dinner, so we drove over to Blue Bell. From the outside, it looked very old, and we were afraid it may not be what we wanted. But we went in, and we were very glad we did. We had a fabulous dinner.... More

Valet said we couldn't valet our car (?). Service was good. Food was served cold. The $40.00 cold steak was inedible. Packed with drunk suburban millionaires or wanna be millionaires. Looks like a great pick up spot for divorcees over 50 but not if you are looking for a top notch meal. Eat at home then show up at the bar... More

We decided to have dinner out this year. Reservations were required for this event. We were seated in an outdoor enclosed tent addition. Dinner was a fixed price for 3 courses - salad, entree, and dessert. Appetizers were an additional cost. By the time we decided on appetizers, we selected a small assortment of seafood that consisted of large shrimp,... More

I took my Mother and my 100 year old Aunt today for their birthdays and this restaurant was excellent. I am a tough critic too. My Brother cooks for real royalty such as the Prince of Morocco, etc. The waiter was the epitome of Professional, that you just don't get anymore in this world of millennials ! Highly recommend and... More

Wanted to take my husband some place special for his birthday so I chose the Blue Bell Inn. Was very disappointed. There was a bad group playing in the bar area and the noise coming from the bar was loud. As the restaurant itself filled the noise level in here made it so loud we had trouble balking to each... In April 2013, after changing ownership, Blue Bell Inn closed its doors and underwent extensive renovation and redesign for over a year. In an effort to preserve historical significance, various aspects of the Inn were kept intact and enhanced through thoughtful restoration. An exposed rock wall from the original 18th century edifice was refurbished and is a focal point in the main dining room. Antique glass and old-fashioned bottles reclaimed during construction were repurposed into striking pieces of art throughout the restaurant. A more spacious floor plan was developed and quintessential indoor-outdoor spaces now encourage seasonal dining. New materials such as Italian porcelain tile, black marble and solid white oak were introduced to create a unique rustic-meets-modern ambiance. Today, Blue Bell Inn serves as a stunning architectural melange spanning three centuries.
