We recently attended the Carlisle PA Car Auction and discovered this gem on the way in to town. We were hooked from the start and ended up eating EVERY meal of the weekend here. Excellent food, service, and ambiance. A wide ranging menu from appetizers thru desserts. We enjoyed the atmosphere at a table in the bar area and claimed... More

Thanks again to Trip Advisor!! We stopped her after checking out the Appalachian Audubon Society on Earth Day. I had a salmon with bacon sandwich. The bread was fresh and delicious. The bean side salad was unusual and tasty. Husband got a good burger and other friend had a beef cheese steak. Ambiance was nice with a window seat overlooking... More

We live 40 minutes away and we can't find another place to top the Tavern. Michael makes the best Manhattans and the food is always incredible. That has not changed for at least 20 years.

My husband and I went here for date night. Good food, decent prices, came away full and satisfied. I had the Mediterranean scallops which were superb. Thought prices were very comparable with other restaurants. Would highly suggest a reservation since the restaurant was full.

We stopped 2-07-17 for a early dinner. Seated promptly at this quaint restaurant and our server was right there. Ordered appetizers, I had the oysters Rockefeller, my wife the Aha-hi tuna. They were very good but the quantity was not up to expectations. For the price, I expected at least 6, a 1/2 dozen oysters instead of 4 small ones.... More

I went to this place on suggestion. I went there and had the Fried cheese and the New York Strip. Although the fried cheese wasn't that great the steak more than made for it. Get the steak you wont regret it.

Dinner arrived an hour and fifteen minutes after we were seated. We did not order appetizers. Food was ok (overpriced Olive Garden quality) but due to the wait and lack of management, we will not go back.

We always go here for anniversaries and birthdays. The Caesar salad and seafood bisque are excellent. Wonderful service.

I'd never had dinner here before so when my BFF asked where I'd like to go to celebrate my birthday, I selected this restaurant. Best decision I could have made. We did not have a reservation because we knew we'd be arriving ahead of the crowd (5:30p) but I'd highly suggest reservations, even during the week. The place was completely... More

My wife and I and another couple had a great dinner there. Each of us had a different entre and everybody commented how good their meal was. Our server was also very good and attentive. We would definitely recommend the restaurant. The only negative thing I can say is we were sitting close to another table and they were sort... More
