Had a fantastic lunch of chicken salad with pineapple and pecans on raisin bread! Interesting choices. People near me were raving about the soup. Nice friendly lunch spot right downtown. Great wait staff. Prompt service.

Try the crab soup, it's fantastic! And the Veggie Quesadilla with chicken! Love walking downtown afterwards!

For once I did not look at Trip Advisor before going to this restaurant for lunch; big mistake! Food was some of the worst I have eaten. I ordered beef noodle soup which tasted like the meat came from a can; broth was greasy and tasteless. Gave it to my husband and he passed after one spoonful. Then tried a... More

I went there for lunch @ 12:15 while jury selection was on break. When we walked in there was no one thee-several other folks who were in court with us came in. It was cold in the room and I ate with my jacket on. I ordered a veggie quesadea and it came out in a thick pita type bread.... More

the previous location on South Main street was a bustling delicious gig. Since they have moved...the restaurant always has a chilly climate in more ways than one. My crab bisque was heated in the microwave and tasted like skillet bottom.

During my visit yesterday, the place was packed-every table full or dirty with dishes. One waitress working as fast as she could. Even though it took much longer to get lunch than it should have, it was worth the wait. I had a Veggie Quesadilla that was delicious.

The food is always very good but there are new and fresh menu items and I now have some new favorites. The service is personal but not overbearing which I personally favor

The signature dish of this restaurant is their cream of crab soup, which used to be delicious. There were three people in my party, two of which ordered the soup. It tasted like someone spilled white pepper in it, it was so hot it burned the whole way down. I had to send mine back, there was no way I... More

Nice place to eat if going 'downtown'. Typical deli food. It used to be right next door to the Capital Theater but now is a bit of a walk away, but do'able if the weather is nice and a nice place to get a nice meal beforehand. Fact is, business was so good they needed to get bigger place. Enough... More

Description
This place is a "hidden gem" in downtown Chambersburg. The restaurant is an off-shoot of a catering business and provides great food at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly, attentive and strives to please. Open for breakfast and lunch only Monday-Saturday this is a great place for a quick breafast or a leisurely lunch.

The only negative (in my opinion) is that the “background music” is provided by a local radio station. Diners shouldn’t have to talk over some DJ or the local news. Perhaps background music without vocals would be more appropriate for a place like Main Street Deli.
