The food was very good, the staff questioned about allergies, required cooking preferences on the Tuna steak. I had the lamb chops which were excellent. Good starters. You feel that the portions are quite small, but having had 3 courses was very satisfied. The 3 courses at £27.50 was very good. Will be back again when next in Devizes. Might... More

Once again Vaughan's Kitchen Cookery School hosted a business breakfast for the local small business community. Peter was kind enough to prepare us a Spanish breakfast in his own inimitable fashion which was enjoyed by all. Most of the gusts were impressed by the wide range of cookery classes on offer so hopefully most of us will return for a... More

Popped in for lunch & sat by the window, sweet little place and has 30 more seats downstairs. Staff and chef were very friendly and extremely passionate about there food. We were offered a wide range of drinks with me deciding on a local pale ale. Partner had mezzo platter starter and I had the scotch egg. As you can... More

Went here for an evening meal with family and friends. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked in. There was a wide selection of very nice bottled, local ales to choose from, I think we covered most of them between our group! I had the warm chorizo salad to start which was really good. Had the... We had a super lunch yesterday, I had best wrap ever with yummy potato wedges, my partner had a beautiful trio of fish, all excellent! Locally sourced food, even the coffee is local.Top service, warm, friendly and nothing too much trouble. We'll be back again next week! Really recommend the chicken and chorizo wrap. They also serve gluten-free food.

Peter Vaughan makes the most amazing food and wherever possible uses Fairtrade ingredients, he explained all of the mezze items which were served on sharing platters. The cakes where delicious and washed down with Fairtrade coffees. The tables where all delightfully dressed with flowers and candles.

We came for lunch on a wet day and wanted to see if we could have something reasonably priced but more interesting than the chains of restaurants on the main high street. Just a few minutes walk away and we each had a two course delight. All of our dishes were gluten free including a homemade gluten free bread with... More

As the original Bistro in Devizes (established 2003) we pride ourselves on being true to the original concept - that is a small, family run establishment (usually with a chef owner) providing a menu that often features slow cooked, seasonal dishes. The setting is traditional in that it is informal, relaxed and cosy. However, we are known for food that 'tickles the tastebuds', is influenced by a range of cuisines and always has The Bistro 'twist" to it. Open both at lunch time and in the evening, we have the distinction of also running a cookery school, now known as Vaughan's Cookery School and operating from another location in the town. Committed to sharing a passion for good food, Chef Peter Vaughan is a member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and of the Slow Food Movement.
