I planned a friends birthday meal, took the risk and went away from all the big chain places. I wanted home cooked food an local. I seen the sign down on the promenade and thought I'd look into it. When i seen the reviews i booked a table straight away! We all ate off the 2course menu, so much value... More

Came for lunch with my mother and couldn't have been more impressed - sautéed mushrooms for starter, with stuffed chicken for lunch. All for less than a tenner - brilliant lunch with very friendly staff. Couldn't be more impressed.

Went with my mother and a lovely meal sat outside, food and service excellent. Good pub food. I had fish and chips, special mention for those and my mother had a steak and onion panini, both of which were served in good time. Would strongly recommend.

Good homemade food here which is reasonably priced. I've never had a bad meal and the homemade chips are delicious. Lighter options are available and there is usually a special option. Good old fashioned pub.

Called in for lunch on Mother's Day without a reservation and were lucky to be given a table. Lovely food and good value. First impressions were great - very helpful and friendly staff, with a warm welcome. We will return when next in the area.

We called in here at Sunday lunch while walking up the prom to New Brighton with the dog. We found a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. There is a separate snug for dogs with water and treats supplied. We a had a very reasonably priced "dipping sandwich" which we had not come across before. It was good roast meat in... More

I love this place, wonderful food and proper homemade chips. Sunday dinner or the dipping sandwich are both great. Lots of different veg and all really well cooked. I went recently with friends who hadn't been before, and they enjoyed it too. Can recommend the chicken breast in Red pesto sauce. Really tender and extremely tasty. Now for the service... More

First visit for a bite to eat and were very impressed with the overall experience. The welcoming, cosy atmosphere was complemented by a good, varied, reasonably priced menu and choice of beers served by pleasant staff. We'll definitely be making return visits.

First time in this pub. Had Sunday lunch and was not dissapointed. The quality taste presentation and service would knock spots off many expensive pubs and restaurants we have been to. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Lovely chips, nice pate starter. Pie of the day ok but gravy very strongly flavoured. Good staff, attentive.
