We were a large pre-booked group and first had our aperitif in the bar before moving across to the barn for lunch. I have to say the barn was large and pretty cold; given this was December a fire or heating would have been nice....More

Thank you for your review. I did explain to your organiser that unfortunately the boiler wasn't working when I went to turn it on that morning, so had to wait for an engineer to come - perhaps that message didn't get through to everyone. As...More

I had the pleasure of Sunday lunch in the pub near my Bro. The roast pork I had was wonderful. I thought last visit was good but this surpassed it. Truly great roast dinner. Don't drive past but be sure to book.

Being în a party of 8 and pre booking, the room was cold and void of atmosphere. The menu looked promising but considering the price it turned out to be average pub grub. The staff were attentive although some of the humour was somewhat lost....More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear you feel like that, but Monday's are pretty quiet at most pubs (if they are open at all), so there will always be a lesser atmosphere than other days. I can assure you that I...More

Short drive from Upton town centre. Menu provides good choice and is reasonable pub quality food. Landlady is a bit of a character and certainly livens things up. Service was good and prices average.

Description
A delightful 17th Century pub with a great atmosphere, serving a range of real ales on hand pump (Wye Valley, Malvern Hills Brewery, Ledbury Real Ales and other guest breweries). A varied menu is on offer at both lunch and dinner time, serving locally sourced food, all freshly cooked. There is a large car park, lovely beer garden with a covered smoking area (called Woodbine Cottage!). Free camping and caravanning currently offered (pub facilities only). The pub is open plan inside with areas separated by beams and has a real fire in Autumn/Winter (or whenever cold!).
