Don't go here expecting a normal restaurant; this really is a very special place which you are unlikely to find anywhere else. When you book Langmans, you are booking a whole evening of culinary delights and hospitality. Take your time, relax, enjoy the atmosphere of...More

Really loved the food and wine which I can not fault. The meal took a lot longer than one would usually plan for an evening at a restaurant so this restaurant is for those who do not mind browsing very late into the evening.More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent visit. I'm pleased you enjoyed the food and wine. You are absolutely right, we aren't a dining experience enjoyed by those who like to eat quickly and leave as soon as possible....More

The food is way above average. The score is for the really weird front of house. You even get locked in! Told to arrive at 7.30. arrived at 7.29 to a locked front door. We could see people in there and rang the bell and...More

Many thanks for your review. We always welcome feedback from our diners. Obviously, we're delighted you enjoyed your meal with us and of course Anton does produce everything here, without any additional help in the kitchen. As you can appreciate, it would be difficult to...More

We visited Langmans last week, having read the TripAdvisor reviews. What a terrific experience, with our party of 7 all made to feel at home by Gail, our hostess. The tasting menu was amazing, with terrific wines to match. Wonderful canapes and petit fours, incredible...More

Excellent well thought out menu and wines, made with care and wonderful fresh ingredients. Had the tasting menu and the accompanying wine flight - both were extremely good - however it really did take a long time.

Booking successfully approximately 2 hours beforehand because of a last minute cancellation meant that simply being there was a surprise. We stepped beyond the unprepossessing restaurant front into an evening's dining experience with truly excellent food and wine from beginning to end. The restaurant is...More

Hi, Many thanks for taking the time to submit a review. It is much appreciated. We're pleased you enjoyed your evening. Sometimes it's nice to be "quirky" as a point of difference and you're absolutely right, the food is excellent! I'll make sure Anton knows...More

This little restaurant sits in a side street in Callington - not perhaps where you would expect to receive top notch food and service. Local produce over 7 courses with a flight of wine, excellent. Anton and Gail make you feel so welcome and really...More

Thank you very much for your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your evening with us. I’m afraid, we can't do much about how we look outside, being housed within a listed building it is very limited to how we can appear. However, I’m pleased...More

How do you operate your cancellation charge? Apparently, according to your website, if diners do not keep to their booking, you will charge them the full price of the meal, using their card number taken from them when the booking was made. My understanding of the law has always been that if a reservation is not kept without good reason (illness, transport problems or significant unforeseeable circumstances) then a court would only grant a claim for proveable loss of profit less any benefit from reusing the table. How do you fix the amount. Does it mean that even reliable or untainted customers must order their entire meal in details when booking? Do you operate the American version of seat booking with a fixed price rather like for an unused rail or flight ticket? Do you enforce your draconian rule even where someone calls days in advance with their explanation? We eat out regularly and have found that many businesses that have tried full price cancellation fees have antagonised both customers and the courts or become involved with dispiriting arguments with credit card companies, to the point that they have reverted to a not taking reservations at all. If I call to make a booking for a family of five in a few weeks time, how much will you expect me to pay? What will be the contractual basis for taking my card number?
