This place has a good reputation among locals and in general the reviews are good. We visited for a Saturday lunch and were generally under-whelmed by the food. The crabcakes tasted of nothing in particular and might just as well have been made with some fairly tasteless cheap white fish; while my wife's Moules Mariniere were hopelessly overlooked and tasted... Sitting in the sun on a lovely autumnal day eating lobster, what more could one ask for. The service was very efficient without seeming to be hurried. Delicious ice cream served with guess what? clotted dream, which of course one ate, as it was there.

We had lunch at this superb hotel on the Quarterdeck. There was plenty of choice on the menu. Two of our party had the fresh crab sandwiches which were served with vegetable crisps, £15 each and were superb. I had a crab salad served with toast, again superb. The service was second to none and the setting was idyllic, so... More

We have a lunch on the quarterdeck every summer we visit. The view is magical especially with my left eye catching the azure blue of the pool. Prosseco and a lovely lunch with attentive staff and agapanthus and hydrangeas all around. What more could you want. I even have the picture from the quarterdeck as my desk top wallpaper. Should... I went back with a person with brain damage because of the amazing kindness and consideration shown by one particular waiter. He was the reason I went back

On holiday in Cornwall we felt "compelled" to sample a cream tea and the Quarterdeck at the Nare Hotel was recommended. We were not disappointed. With a selection of teas (or coffee) and a generous serving of beautiful and fresh scones, clotted cream and two types of jam we relaxed whilst looking out at the beach and the sea on... More

Arrived at the quarterdeck on Thursday evening for my son's 40th Birthday. While in the lounge had to wait a considerable time to order pre-dinner drinks on looking for a waitress who did apologise we had again to wait for the drinks to be served and as at that time there were hardly any customers the time experienced was not... We stayed for 3 nights at the Nare and I had crab sandwiches daily. It tends to get busy at lunch time and a few times they forgot my drink and got our order mixed up. Beautiful setting and a great place to sip a G&T and watch the world go by

Wonderfully welcoming staff ,in particular Stuart and a young dark haired man ( don't know his name ) . Lovely to sit out on the terrace with champagne which could have been chilled a little better , great view, then inside to eat . The entrée duck and salmon were small but perfectly cooked / presented . Main courses of... More

Description
The Quarterdeck Restaurant is located at The Nare Hotel on Cornwall's Roseland Peninsula. With spectacular sea views over Gerrans Bay, it is the perfect place to meet family and friends for a relaxed lunch or stylish evening meal. The Quarterdeck has a classical yachting décor, sheltered terrace and a reputation for fabulous food made with the finest local ingredients. We have always been a big supporter of West Country farmers and specialise in locally reared beef and the freshest of seafood caught from waters almost on the doorstep. The Nare's wine cellar is extensive with wines from all round the world selected and laid down by Toby Ashworth, proprietor.
