It is a rustic place - good to sit outside and watch the occasional car go past - whilst we did not eat the food looked good - standard pub fare

We rode a bike up to the hunter valley and stopped off at the wollombi tavern. The outlook was beautiful. People camping out the back of the public . We had a lovely pub lunch. The little town was fantastic.

Why is it that Cooks/Chefs struggle to make a decent & proper "Dianne Sauce"? I ordered schnitzel, Chips & salad. Chips were well cooked which isn't too difficult with frozen pre cut and deep fried. The salad was very basic but drenched in too much dressing, although it had a lovely flavour. Schnitzel was nice but the biggest disappointment was... More

As long as you don't mind Motorbike riders (and I don't) this is a great place to go for lunch. We took our Border Collie for a ride and had lunch and a few drinks here. The Pub has a few aces of grass behind it so a perfect place to take a dog on a leash. The food was... More

While staying at Wollombi for the weekend we went to the tavern for drinks with friends and to watch the lantern parade as part of the town's annual country fair. Friendly atmosphere.

Great food - the burgers are enormous. Great verandah to sit back and relax or go out on the huge grassed area. Good place to sit and watch the world go by. Just be careful of the Dr Jurds Jungle Juice - its rocket fuel but a good drink when mixed with ginger beer.
