Let's begin by cheering for the free, covered parking with an available overflow lot. Yea! Reasonably priced GOOD wine list includes local selections. I tried a wonderful local beer. My guy found the waiter's recommendation an excellent food match. Thank you, John for your knowledge...More

Visiting family that live in the area. They took us here & food was wonderful! Very fresh, as they use locally produced food for their dishes. I ordered a salad with the pork belly & fried green tomatoes, & then the ice cream sampler with...More

The food here is without a doubt some of the best and most delicious in Lancaster. All three of us enjoyed everything we were served. The Responsible fish catch was fresh and well prepared. The beef liver was also beyond compare, but my favorite dish...More

The presentation was phenomenal and the ambiance was very romantic but the space was really small meaning the seating was one on top of the other. The food was so so.

Great food. I had the strip steak and my wife had fish. We loved our meal. Owner/waiter found out it was our anniversary and gave us free desert. Nothing bad to say about it.

I can't honestly answer that, as we ended up dining at the bar, rather taken with the supremely gracious and entertaining bartender. The actual dining room is deeper within the restaurant. I do recall points of light among... More

During renovations, workers found in the floor beams a signed inspection stamp--November 5, 1890--with the name of tobacco inspector John J. Jeffries. We named the restaurant after him.

We’ve designed our menu based on local, seasonal, sustainable and organic agriculture and delicious recipes. Please join us and taste the difference of local farm-to-table sustainable cuisine in one of Lancaster's best fine dining restaurants.
As the Chefs and Owners of John J Jeffries, we believe you will find our passion for supporting local businesses and preserving the land we live on, to be contagiously obvious in how we run our restaurant.
All of our meats are raised locally, confinement-free on fresh green grass pastures. No hormones, antibiotics, steroids or forced-fertilization occurs.

Our produce is local organic or chemical free. We use local grass fed cream, butter and eggs.

We also provide sustainable seafood and support sustainable fisheries.
