Atmosphere is relaxed with views from the restaurant into the working waterwheel. Service is always friendly and efficient. The food and music is fabulous!

This cafe is the highlight of eating in Milford. It offers the feel of a bistro in a big city with the quaintness of a small town. It is set in an old Mill and right beside a lovely creekside. I love the view, the food, the drinks, the service. This is a must stop place when in Milford every... More

Visited the Waterwheel with friends who had dined there in the past. There are not too many restaurants in Milford, and the Waterwheel is supposed to be a favorite of locals. I ordered the hamburger for lunch. The burger came on a cold sesame seed bun, no mustard or mayo, and chips. For the price, I would expect a better... More

Based on the reviews on Trip advisor we decided we would stop here for lunch after our drive on the NJ side of the Delaware Water Gap. When entering the restaurant the entrance was curtained off probably from the cold air. We were seated in the area that had six closely spaced tables right near the front door. The rest... More

While traveling home from a trip recently we connected with friends who eat here regularly. A busy, quaint and very interesting little restaurant for sure. Love the bakery items as well as the breakfasts we had.

The waterwheel Cafe is a charming spot with great food. It is located in Milford Pa a charming touristy town with lots of shops (some in the same building as Cafe) You can see the huge working water wheel in action after , or before you eat.

The Waterwheel offers both great food and excellent service. The environment is authentic rustic country with a great view of the creek from the back porch. We love to sit outside during great weather and listen to the sound of the rushing water. There can be a wait during peak times in season or weekends. My family also loves their... More

This is a cozy & unique restaurant, bakery, country store, bar & live music spot all in one. There's live music (blues, rock, classics) on Thursdays & some Fridays in the bar area, which is separate from the main restaurant, but you can order food in the bar area too. Their menu is unique blend of American & Vietnamese food... More

Waited over an hour to be seated -- party of 4. Meanwhile groups of 2 were seated constantly after coming in behind us. Why weren't tables put together so we could be seated? Then the food---hair found in the salad, the salami on the sandwich was old and tasted horrible.

Description
Situated on the Sawkill Creek, in Milford, PA the Waterwheel Café, Bakery & Bar was started in April of 1989 in a restored 19th century water-powered mill, which is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Originally built in the early 1800's this lively example of American history is now in action and its doors are open to the public. Water rushes over the three-story high water-wheel, driving a series of shafts, gears, pulleys and belts that once powered the stones & grain-milling equipment, all visible through the glass walls of the Café & Bar. Starting at first as a bakery & lunch café the Waterwheel has grown into a full scale restaurant, bakery and bar-serving breakfast & lunch daily with dinners being served Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings. Waterwheel's customers are comfortable in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The kitchen staff consistently prepares a fresh and flavorful eclectic menu that excites not only the palate, but the eye as well.
