Although rated very well, food was only average. Certainly not top of the line Italian, as pasta was overlooked and dry. Service though was excellent and just wished the food matched.

This place is not terribly big on space, but it certainly makes up for it with service and food! The portions were huge and the food was some of the best we had on our trip! Great fresh salads, home made pasta, delicious bread, fantastic service! We could not have asked for more and only wish we had been able... More

I ate at Piccolo Forno for dinner, spinach ravioli and a terrific dessert, chocolate gelato with hazelnuts, a cream center and cocoa power, yum-yum. The pizza looked so good, I stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. The pizza was a pleasure. The pizza was followed by pistachio ice cream, not too sweet and homemade, quite good. The service... More

his is a very popular restaurant with Pittsburgh natives. The quality of the food is excellent from the Crostini appetizers to the pasta dishes such as a house tortellini with crab and ricotta or the lasagna. Daily specials are worth trying. Bring your own wine as the restaurant does not have a license. It’s also closed on Sundays and Mondays.... More

Amazing food! Great place! The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and the service is very good! It really tastes as italian food! The bolognese lasagna is from another world! Just spectacular!

We came for a "date night" dinner, and the food was fantastic. I ordered the Lasagna and my boyfriend ordered the Braised Boar Pasta. We also ordered the meatball appetizer, and they were unlike anything we had ever had before - so good! Our only complaint was the two hour wait...we spent more money down at the Grapperia waiting than... More

This popular location offers rustic Italian food with unique flavor. There is a great variety of pastas and pizzas - it'll take several trips to try them all! The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is enjoyable - a little noisy. And be prepared - they don't offer reservations.

Piccolo Forno is one of those restaurants where you'd like to order everything on the menu at least once. The food is as good or better than any Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh. If you're looking for spaghetti and meatballs drenched in red sauce, look elsewhere. If you'd like an authentic wood-fired pizza or a fresh pasta dish with ingredients like... More

Always a great place for a business lunch. Food is very good. Place is small but comfortable. Also a good place to take the family. I have eaten here with my family, too. Very generous portions. Service is good and friendly. Highly recommend this resturant. We had one of their signature pizzas and a pasta meal. All very very good
