Ate a late breakfast here. Filled up quickly with the lunch crowd. Typical diner food, cooked quickly and perfectly.

I tried the cherries french toast and it was excellent! The waitress seemed a bit in a hurry and wasn't real friendly, but not too bad. Seemed to be just a small 'hole in the wall". No hot chocolate, and I don't care for coffee.

I loved this place. A tasty breakfast in the heart of the city at an affordable price. The staff work very hard. This is a no frills diner that shows what a hard working staff can accomplish, efficient service and great food.

I just recently visited Pittsburgh New Year's Eve for a weekend of fun and football, my wife and I typically do not like to eat at chain restaurants they always seem so plain Jane and cookie cutter service and food. We always try to find the hole in the wall Mom and Pops and family-owned restaurants, it was a pure... More

We stopped at Cherries before a Steelers game on New Year's Day. Our waitress was the only one waiting tables and was quite busy and not terribly patient, however our food was very good! The irony is that their menu claims that they're friendly or that there is service with a smile, but not on the day we visited :).... More

Wanted a good breakfast, walked in, sat at the solo diner bar space up front, proceeded to be ignored for ten minutes, finally the guy who runs the place puts a water in front of me and asks me if I want coffee, I said Yes, waited another 5 minutes, no coffee, got up and left. Can't say anything about... More

Cherries Diner is a hidden gem right next to Market Square. The diner is small, but the wait wasn't very long when I visited. The breakfast was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

We were in Pittsburgh for a family conference and decided to try Cherries for breakfast. This place is small, folks, but worth the wait! I felt sorry for our waitress, as she was the only one working at the time. Somehow, she managed to serve us with a smile on her face! I would recommend one thing, but everything we... More

My husband and I each had "The Kitchen Sink" omelet and shared a side of pancakes. Omelet was terrific, not too big and not too small with a little of everything inside- great flavor and served with a side of toast. Pancakes were tasty as well, on the thinner side with crispy edges, perfect sweet ending to the meal in... More
