We had a really great day in Pittsburgh in perfect weather! When we called to confirm our reservation there was a glitch. Hostess Chloe was really accommodating and fit us in for our dinner. We went a little early to have a cocktail and were...able to sit immediately. We had a window table on the second floor. Beautiful sunset over the three rivers. Our waitress was Denise and she was truly wonderful! We were with our close friends and weren’t rushed in any way. We enjoyed great cocktails. One husband had the spicy crab bisque and the other had oysters on the half shell. They both raved over their appetizers. We were also served a couple small tastes from the chef…again delish! Two of us had the grilled pork chop, one husband had the steak, and the other had the lamb chops. I don’t know how to describe the meal other than saying is was excellent for each of us. Each couple shared the lemon tart with strawberries, shattered meringue, & shortbread cookies. We just loved the fact that the drinks were good, the food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the city view was gorgeous! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!More

5* view, 5* service, 5* ambiance and decor, 2* food I was wowed by the exceptional view and elegant interior. But the food, basically, was very disappointing. Both my husband and I disliked the salmon poke appetizer, which we shared. We left some of it...on the plate. The sauce tasted good with the raw carrot shavings, which I finished and enjoyed, but I didn't enjoy the same sauce on the salmon. I am a huge fan of salmon tartare and salmon poke and eat those dozens of times a year; they're among my favorite foods. But not this recipe. I was equally disappointed with the vegan mushroom entree. Too salty is my biggest complaint. Loved the carrots but there weren't so many of them; I found myself wishing the dish had included more vegetables; celery or parsnip or turnips would have tasted good in that dish. The polenta and mushrooms were OK but not exciting. And there were way too many mushrooms. The dish is overwhelmingly mushrooms. Had been expecting to enjoy the food more at this restaurant.More

Beautiful restaurant with great views. Staff were welcoming and service was prompt. Food was delicious and generously proportioned for a fine dining venue. I really liked the touch of a cookie to take home. It was tiny but I always love these little bon bons...to prolong a special experience. I thought the price point was more akin to expectations of big cities rather than Pittsburgh so I wouldn’t say it was good value but acceptable for a special occasion event.More

Excellent atmosphere. We did not have reservations but sat near the bar and everyone was attentive to our needs. Delicious cocktails. Wonderful dinners. Our dining experience was highlighted by a special server named “Little Bee”. She truly added to our enjoyment.

The food and service were in the top 3 meal experiences we have EVER had (the other two were The Greenbrier in White Sulfur Springs, WV and the Villa d'Este on Lake Como, It). The view was better than either of the aforementioned places so...this rates as number ONE!More

Great place to go for a celebration. Wonderful view, good service, good drink list, good desserts. It was fun to take the incline railway and walk next door to the restaurant. The appetizers were delicious (especially the crab toast), the salmon was great, and so...were the sea bass and the chicken. Lamb shanks were good, but not great--there are probably better places to order lamb. A bit overpiced, but a good place to go for a special evening out.More

Reservations are for full dinner service only? We visited 2 years ago, on a tour of Pittsburgh, this was our third stop with a reservation that did not nor did our server ever mention we HAD to order dinner. But today when I called to...make a reservation it was mentioned that the last time we came we only ordered appetizers drinks and desserts, well sure because that's what we wanted. Our bill still equaled well more than an entree, plus we left a heffty tip. I felt it was rude to imply we have to order an entree. It does not mention it on the open table and I've never heard of such a requirement or of a place keeping tabs on what you ordered! Ridiculous. I had made a reservation but I canceled because I can spend my money on another restaurant.More

Great food, great service, and one of the best views in Pittsburgh. Every part of the meal, from the crab toast points, to the wedge salad, to the pork chop, and dessert were outstanding. Service was great - attentive but not overbearing. A very special...night out. The meal can get expensive fast, but really enjoyed it.More
