In Manhattan in 1965, there was no place where people could go out to meet friends and make new ones in an environment that was at once both relaxed and yet exciting. Then, Alan Stillman opened Fridays as a way, he said, "to meet Pan Am stewardesses." Suddenly, there was a place with great food, new and exciting drinks and an electric energy. A place where bartenders mixed the environment just as well as they mixed drinks. In short, a place like nowhere else. Today, Fridays in Wilkes Barre, PA is still America's most iconic bar and grill. We embrace and celebrate our heritage as a bar. One that just happens to serve killer food in an environment where it's always Friday.
Our server was great. The restaurant is taking all necessary steps to stay safe. It was a great experience except for the food. I had the loaded cheese fries burger, which looks so delicious in the picture on the menu. What arrived was an overcooked...burger with stale fries on top and barely any cheese sauce. I'm talking a tiny dollop of cheese sauce! It was dry and bland and just not good. Oh, and the loaded potato skin skewer on top was also dried out and barely edible. It tasted like it had been reheated several times. The cheese on top was hard and congealed. Based on the food quality, I would not recommend this place. It appears to have gone downhill.More
This restaurant is really taking precautions to welcome it's dining guests: the single use menus, the contactless payment option ( of course you need a contactless card or Google Pay) the booths with tall walls (ok, they were here before) all made me feel safe...to dine in during a pandemic. Our server was so nice and personable and smiling under his mask. And the food is good.. but you already know that.More
Server Julene was excellent and so were the ribs. Meal came in good time. The young women on the front are hostesses?? They have no manners or customer service skills at all, it is like I was inconveniencing them especially the young one with glasses....This is the first impression of your restaurant and I would at least have them be pleasant to customers. Looking down at the floor and zero verbal chat with several customers I observed this evening, I hope the staff dont have to share there tips with these young ladies as they are not deserving! Poor first impression of an excellent restaurant. The low rating on service is only for the front door staff.More
So I was surprised when Marriott suggest this place as a chain but was surprised that it went above expected. Bartender intuitive and the manager was very engaging. Will be back on my next trip to the area.
Went with our grandson for dinner. Service was very good.Grandson had his favorite mozzarella sticks and the $5 burger and fries special. All good. Wife and I spilt the chicken sandwich which was small and just ok. Have fun
We were directed here by the staff of the Fairfield Inn next door. You have to walk through the parking lot to get there but the buildings appear to share a common wall and a passageway would be a nice addition in the winter. The...restaurant has the appearance of a sports bar. They have a nice menu with good choices and a small but adequate wine list. We opted for the 6 oz sirloin with garlic mash and broccoli which were very good. Good service and reasonable prices.More

It could have come from the waitress or possibly someone in the kitchen. Normally, if you bring it to the attention of the waitress or the manager they will make an effort to make it up to you. Things like that happen in every type of restaurant not just chains.
