We stopped for dinner on our way home from a weekend away. Good selection of items on the buffet and it was well stocked. Items were fresh not sitting around for too long. Food was good and glad to see buffets are back.
Have been to Royal Buffet for both lunch and dinner, as well as a special menu on Father's Day. The buffet always has a huge selection. They have traditional Chinese food, a Mongolian BBQ, some American food, a salad bar, soups, desserts, ice cream and...a sushi bar. The food is always hot and the Mongolian BBQ and sushi are made in front of you. The place gets crowded because it is worth the price. Soda is additional. It is clean and the staff seems to be on the ball. I just wish customers would be required to wear masks to get the food up at the buffet. There are no gloves to use when getting food but they do have hand sanitizer at the ends of the buffet sections. Recommend this buffet for Asian food in NEPA.More
50% very bad American food, 50% fried Chinese style food covered with sugary sauces, greasy noodles and fried rice, and a salad bar with a bigger variety of dressing than vegetable. The fresh fruits were orange slices, out-of-season melon (tasted like cucumber) and canned mandarin...slices. 5 varieties of tiny cake (but those tiny buffet cakes are never good so give them a pass. Hands down worst variety I have ever seen on a buffet. I am not exaggerating when I say that the hot buffet was at the very least half American food, chicken nuggets, pizza, french fries, mac n' cheese, garlic bread, and they didn't even have the good sense to put that all on the same island, it was mixed in with with the rest of it.
I really only went for sushi and I was very displeased. There was only one variety with solid fresh fish, a salmon roll colored with slivers of salmon. It was all beautifully laid out and looked like a nice sushi buffet but that's all it had going for it. Everything was a California roll with a different garnish. Some had mayonnaise, some were fried, some had spicy tuna mush, but at the end of the day everything was a California roll. The biggest laugh I got was the imitation crab nigiri... Embarrassing.
Service was fine. (minimal interaction, no personality, pay us get out.)
Lunch was 10 bucks but I hardly call it a value. I know buffets are usually cheaper food and they need a variety of non-Chinese food for kids but come on.More
Decided on Chinese for lunch on Friday afternoon and was happy with our choice. On our last visit here we were not happy, but decided to give them another chance. We were glad that we did. Plenty of options and the food was good and...hot, the staff was keeping a good watch on the buffet and made sure everything was filled. $20.00 for two buffets and a drink, can't beat that.More
