Stayed at Hotel next store dined for late lunch! The place is not fancy but seafood DELICIOUS and fresh. Serves beer and wine portions large even kids menu. We ate on upper deck looked out over ocean. Was only in town for 1 night or definitely would have come back. I imagine this place gets very crowded in season. Definitely... More

I've been going to Flo's for 20 years - it is the place to go for Frid clams when you are in Newport. Across the street from First Beach - it is the quintessential beah food. Nothing about it is pretentious- it is what it is. If you are looking for an upscale experience with lots of fresh veggies and... More

My daughter's lobster roll was very good, but my classic clear clam chowder was a nice broth with no clams....just a lot of potatoes. I also order the stuffed quahog, but couldn't find any quahog in it...just a bunch of soggy stuffing which I really did not find appealing. Too bad...I used to really love the dish on Cape Cod.... Friends recommended the shack - and that's what it is. Great chowder and lobster roll, clam fritters (they don't call them that) cole slaw and fries. Went our first night in Newport. It was great! Very casual as expected.

New England girl here transplanted to florida for the last 22 yrs. Brought my husband here Mn. boy to Newport , R.I. I like going here for lunch. It's casual,so if you go right after the beach, you are ok. If you decide to eat outside you can eat on the picnic tables. There is also a 2nd floor. There's a beautiful fish tank upstairs to look at. New England clam chowder & clam cakes are good.

They know how to fry clam strips, they know how to fry Oysters. They know how to shuck Oysters and Clams. All the food is very good and since there is no service, the service is good too! All I would wish is for better wines in the small bottles!

Really good food in a totally no frills local dive. Absolutely worth a visit to experience local food without the touristy draw. Be prepared for a line and very limited parking, but it's worth it if you don't mind those two things.

Fun to eat in or you can take out. v\Views of the ocean and easy access to Newport's first (Easton's) Beach.
