Hall's Chop House bills itself as "Charleston's Steak House". While that may have been true before, it has clearly lost the title. My wife and some friends ate there recently and it was a less than pleasurable experience. We felt extremely rushed, with the wait staff hovering to make sure we ate as quickly as possible and could get on... More

The chophouse is a wonderful restaurant to get a steak. My husband and I split the Tomahawk Rib Eye. It was cooked to perfection. Their fried green tomatoes with crab, shrimp and bacon succotash was delicious. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. Great southern hospitality. The owner made rounds checking on the diners.

Sometimes too much of a good thing can just be too much... but this is not true with Hall's. When a proprietor (in this case, Billy Hall) greets you at the door by name and wishes you well, you already immediately love the place. When he brings you champagne to welcome you to his establishment, you feel like family. Our... More

My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. We were greeted immediately at the door by the owner. Everyone from the hostess to our waiter wished us a happy anniversary. The owner even brought us complimentary champagne! We were seated at a comfortable table with a fantastic server, Brandon. He was very attentive and explained the menu. I had... More

The establishment lives up to its name for a lively steakhouse in Charleston. The steak was cooked perfectly but my palate prefers a little more seasoning. The she-crab soups beats 82 Queen hands down. But the star of the show was the wedge salad. Simple but absolutely delicious. We enjoyed our meal and the service, but we've "been there-done that"... I was not sure what to expect, so I went in with an open mind. Upon entering the establishment, we were met with a loud, busy atmosphere. Somewhat off-putting for people looking for a quiet, fine dining experience. The owner greeted us and walked us to our table, which thankfully, was in another room. The ambience was much better in... We came to Charleston for the first time for our 32nd anniversary. Decided to eat at the number one restaurant in Charleston. We were disappointed. The owner was very warm and nice when we arrived..he commented about our anniversary. We sat down and ordered our dinner. It took about an hour to get our steak. Long wait. They were very... More

It was very crowded but the staff was about to seat us at a window table after a concert at the Charleston Music Hall which is right around the corner. Our friends shared a Hot Pepper Martini … $13 House-made Habanero infused vodka and passion fruit puree which was exactly as described and could only be sipped. HOT and good.... More

We had 17 at our family party in the Lemond room. Atmosphere was intimate and lively. The food and service were OUTSTANDING. No "take-home" bags; everyone consumed it all! Complimentary champagne and birthday cake. Family owned, and owners present to see that every need was met.

We were visiting for our anniversary and they provided us champagne and dessert. Great food, a little loud. Service was over the top. I was asked by 7 different people if my food was okay. I told my spouse, I feel like I can't take a bite without someone asking me if it was okay. Definitely worth going to.
