My husband and I wanted try a new breakfast spot so we headed to Saffron Cafe and Bakery. We are locals and we had heard their breakfast sandwiches were tasty and plentiful. We arrived at 9:30 and asked to sit in a vacant booth noticing the restaurant was less than a 1/3 full. We were told no because the booths... More

We stopped into Saffron while walking through Charleston and looking for a mid-afternoon snack. We ordered iced coffee, which was strong and had the perfect ratio of whole milk. It was probably the best iced coffee I've had outside the ones I make at home. They also had a lovely tray of day-old pastries at half price so we tried... More

Kind of hidden away in downtown, but worth finding. Breakfast is good with lots of variety. They have homemade pastries that are tasty. Wait staff does a fair job as they don't come around often. When they do, they are friendly. Prices are reasonable.

We stumbled across this awesome bakery and cafe. The cackles were fabulous and the Napoleon which was like a custard slice was to die for. We also tried their falafel wraps too which were lovely. Wished we had time to go more. We sat outside in their outside seating area on both occasions as the weather was glorious. Great cafe... More

Service was great! We had croissants and Yougurt Parfait, and that was awsome. Really fresh ingredients tasty and big portions. Good coffee too!! It's a big place and is not in the middle of the downtown but you can go and have a nice walk to get to know the city too.

After watching Elvis Live at the Gaillard Auditorium, we left the car parked in the garage and wandered across the street to Saffron. Hubby ordered their Cheeseburger which was moist and perfectly seasoned. I had the scallops with prosciutto. Although the scallops were on the small side, there were plenty of them on the plate. We took 2 delicious desserts home... More

The bakery is excellent. The best key lime torte I ever tasted. So is the blueberry and cranberry cheesecakes. They had the right amount of flavor and sweetness. Not overly sweet like many bakeries. The butter croissant is excellent - crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and very flavorful. We went back on the second day for more.... More

We have visited Saffrons several times over the years. They have the best omelettes and baked goods in the city!
