We had our first dinner in Charleston here and the food was wonderful in a very attractive setting. I loved the Crispy Flounder, my husband said his caesar salad was the best he's ever had. After a not very good dinner in a well known restaurant the next night, we decided to return to Anson for our third dinner. Again... More

We had a special occasion dinner at Anson Restaurant. We sat upstairs overlooking Anson Street and Pickney St. There was a nice fire in the fireplace and the crystal chandeliers were beautiful. The food was not the best we had in Charleston, but certainly adequate. Not sure I'd go back but it was fun to visit and eat there once.

One of us has had stomach surgery and can't eat much (but looks great!). We asked to share 2 appetizers and split an entree. They were so generous and thoughtful: they even divided the soup into two bowls (and it looked like almost a full serving in each). The crab and brie dip was outstanding, maybe my favorite dish this... More

We travel to Charleston at least once a year and have for the past 16 years, usually in January. When Anson burned a couple of years ago we were saddened, but now they are back and better than ever. The rebuild looks great and the service and food better than before. My wife got her usual Crispy Flounder, which unlike... More

A group of us decided to try this place for restaurant week. Not so much disappointed with the food, but rather the service. The waiter was trying to minimize the amount of things on the table for the main course, that's when he grabbed the bread out of the basket barehanded an out them on a plate...(lost our appetite for... I was delighted to discover that one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston had reopened! Unfortunately, Anson's experienced a tragic fire. They had to close for a couple of years. They remodeled and to my delight opened their doors. I took my daughter there and we enjoyed our dinner immensely. It was restaurant week and I have found that I... More

Had dinner my first time visiting Charleston after a horse and carriage tour of the city. We were looking for great seafood. We had a whole fish. It was very delicious.

Chose this restaurant to show my family a true Charleston dining experience. We at upstairs in the restored old house and the dining room was very warm and inviting, quiet for conversation and relaxing. Our server was excellent, very friendly, helpful with menu descriptions and did not rush us. The flounder is a local speciality and did not disappoint. Oysters... More

Located in the heart of Market Street district, Anson offers a fun and energetic place to enjoy some great Southern style seafood. We had the flounder and scallops both were delicious. And on reputation- the Bandanna Cream Pie- sounds heavy but it was not- light and delicious. Our server was very nice but seemed stretched to be as attentive as... More
