Chose this restaurant for our one year wedding anniversary and were not disappointed - everything was absolutely amazing and the service was beyond excellent. I understand they are famous for the coconut cake but I highly recommend the banana pudding - it was outstanding!!!!!!!

My husband and I visited while on vacation and had reservations for a weeknight at 8 o'clock. We were surprised at how busy it was even at that time but immediately liked the atmosphere with the gray velvet walls, subtle lighting and classy paintings. We were seated fairly quickly and greeted by our waiter who initially seemed the usual for... More

Wonderful venue located in a hotel so very quaint. It has outdoor seating so if it's not too humid and hot try for the garden seating. We sat inside and it can get a little noisy as I think a lot of corporate clients get loud at the large tables. Excellent presentation and large wine selections. I would just go... More

This is a perfect special occasion restaurant. It was the most formal of any we visited in Charleston; no shorts in view on any man and most even wore jackets. The room is very beautiful and there's also a lovely garden for dining outside when the weather permits. We opted for the inside space given the heat. As in every... More

Elegant if perhaps a tad stuffy, everything was top notch, but not so memorable as I had hoped. If I had to do over again, I would have dined outside.

The Peninsula Grill is famous for a 7 layer coconut cake. The bartender (yes we went to the bar) said as long as the door is open, you can get coconut cake. Oh my was the cake delicious, not too sweet, light and memorably indulgent. A whole 12 pound cake can be shipped to your door for a mere $130.... More

We had a very intimate, romantic dinner in the garden of the Peninsula Grill on a recent trip to Charleston. The restaurant was in walking distance to our hotel The garden was quiet and beautiful. The service was wonderful and the food perfect.

We had dinner on their patio and very much enjoyed our dinner . Started with salads - special tomato and beet salad and gem lettuce salad. Both fresh and delicious. Then we had a daily special of grouper over a corn, crab, shrimp sauté which was terrific. Also had salmon with lime buerre Blanca sauce and Vidalia onion potatoes- also... More
