This is a well run place and the food is outstanding. I am not a big fan of collards but one bite of theirs changed my opinion. You do not need to add anything to them just enjoy. Highly recommended .

We were fortunate to get in for dinner as this restaurant is extremely popular. We had a light dinner consisting of appetizers including their fried green tomatoes (said to be the best in Charleston & we would agree) and a surprisingly yummy succotash! For dessert - pecan pie of course. Service and ambience were also excellent.

We chose Magnolias for its southern menu. We started with the friend green tomatoes. It will be a dish I remember for a long time, but it's really a two person appetizer. Fried chicken was light and crispy got my husband. I had to wait a bit longer for the Boulliabaisse, but it was worth it. Perfectly cooked fish with... More

My wife and I had dinner at Magnolias last evening. Our appetizer - the pan seared scallops - were very good. My entree was the Parmesan crusted catch of the day. My wife had the fried chicken. Both entrees, like our appetizer, were very good. Very good, but not great. What was most disappointing to us was the atmosphere of... More

We were starving when we reached Magnolias, following a 2-hour walking tour of Charleston. The restaurant did not disappoint. A cool and elegant interior is staffed by friendly, professional staff. The full menu is available at the bar (try one of their delicious cocktails) or at comfy, well-spaced, linen-dressed tables. The appetisers and main courses offered a range of choices.... More

The fried shrimp po'boy was excellent; the shrimp tasted so fresh, not hidden in the breading. The atmosphere was excellent as well. My waiter was helpful and attentive. Definitely will go back and take my friends.

We had shrimp and grits and salmon on a cedar board. For appetizers we had the fried green tomatoes (best I've ever had) and crab cakes. Everything was divine, and service was excellent. They were very patient with our 17.5 year old. They also had local beers on tap, though they cost about as much as a meal at lunch... More

We wanted one really nice dinner during our trip and were told on multiple occasions Magnolias was the place to go and it didn't disappoint. The crab cakes were INCREDIBLE - best meal of the whole trip for me and the shrimp and grits were outstanding as well. Atmosphere was really nice and service was top notch.

What a wonderful romantic place to eat. It's nice and roomy with a wonderful menu. We are there at lunch and had the fish tacos. On s hot day it's a wonderful place to getaway from the heat and relax with a nice lunch. We like to eat early dinner to avoid the crowds.

Thank Turisk
