My husband and I visited Magnolias for dinner recently and really enjoyed everything. Our waitress, Kathryn, was so nice too. We started with the fried green tomatoes and tomato bisque -- both great. My husband got the catch of the day which was flounder and he was really happy with it. I just had a few sides -- the mac... More

Probably shouldn't have had our first dinner in Charleston at Magnolia's, since nothing during the rest of our weekend beat it even though we had some very nice meals. Highly recommended, but make it your last meal in town rather than your first!

We visited Magnolias on a weekend trip and it did not disappoint. We tried the signature fried chicken and shrimp and grits as well as the pimento cheese for appetizer. Everything was incredibly delicious and the service outstanding. We can't wait to return and try a fresh fish dish and dessert next time around.

My wife and I had dinner at Magnolias on a Thursday night. The restaurant was busy, but surprisingly quiet. We could have a conversation at normal speech levels! We had the fried green tomatoes, shellfish and grits and the brownie with ice cream for dessert. The appetizer was crispy, tangy and just a hint of sweet. The grits were the... More

Excellent service. Great fried green tomatoes. Flounder was done perfectly. Loved the shellfish and grits. Scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Wine list was great. A definite must do!

If you wish to enjoy maybe the best restaurant overall then Magnolias is the place. Great food and excellent service make this a must stop on the Charleston foodie train. Recent visit had varied choices from ahi tuna to NY strip to scallops & grits to snapper special and all raved about their choices. The sides are always special and... More

Hands down, my most favorite 'go-to' restaurant in Charleston! We find any excuse to celebrate occasions here. The restaurant is classy but not too upscale. Because of their location on East Bay, I think they get quite the mix of patrons, locals as well as tourists who happen to be walking by. With regard to the menu, the homemade potato... More

Lee Ann and I had visited Magnolia's the Sunday night before we lunched here, but left when we learned there would be a prohibitive wait. Getting into Magnolia's was not a problem for lunch on Monday, however. Lee Ann had the fresh berry (strawberries and blueberries) salad and two appetizers, pan fried chicken livers and mac and cheese, while I... More
