Highly recommend this yummy spot - I would describe as casual fine dining. There were people on dates dressed up, more casual families, etc. It seemed to suit both types just fine. Innovative food with emphasis on quality proteins. Quiet but not too quiet, cool...More

Atmosphere is hectic and noisy. Service is sporadic not due to servers but to kitchen. We asked to sit in outer room to get away from bar noise, but it was still hard to hear the person across the table. The food was great and...More

There is no set menu at Motor Supply Bistro. Their daily menu consists of dishes that can be prepared from the locally resourced groceries they procure on that particular day. Evey dish I have ever had there is awesome. If someone new comes to Columbia,...More

My wife wanted to go to this restaurant during the Kentucky game weekend. We were both excited about the farm to table concept. I got the steak which was good but I had better at Ruth Chris, but the Yukon potatoes was amazing. My wife...More

Oh my ! One of the most fabulous meals I've ever eaten. And, our server , Kyle , was so helpful and so very nice. There for about 3 hours. Never felt rushed. If I was independently wealthy I'd eat here every night. Menu depends...More

Sweet location and really nicely done interior. We sat at the bar and the bar mgr killed it. From drinks to conversation to the food...Boom. He knew his stuff and the kitchen backed him up. Great Ryes to Shrimp...to layers of flavors in their creations...almost...More

Impeccable tableside service. Excellent farm to table menu. Located in downtown Columbia and walkable from many nearby hotels.

We have always had good food at Motor Supply, but the seating is tight. Not tight in a good way. The flow to be seated is rather odd and the chair spacing is cramped. We had an OK table, but there was a nearby table...More

I would say that it really isn't all that kid friendly...not that they wouldn't allow kids it's just more of an adult place to be honest.

Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Led by Executive Chef Wesley Fulmer, the kitchen's lunch, dinner and brunch handwritten menus change daily, featuring contemporary New American cuisine, with nods to Creole, Cajun, New Southern, French, Italian and Asian cuisine. We are Columbia's foremost "farm to fork" restaurant, working with local, sustainable farms for produce, meats, SC seafood and more. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of our stocks, sauces and desserts are made on site, including our charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard. Our early 19th century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves 180+ fine wines (Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic and local craft beers, as well as an artisan farm-to-shaker cocktail list made from house-infused liquors, handmade bitters, barrel-aged spirits and locally-sourced ingredients and garnishes.
