Clever conversion of old post office into a very nice restaurant. More expensive than other local options but worth it for a change of pace.

After a day travelling to Edisto, it was great to sit in the quiet comfort of The Old Post Office and be served good food. The service was friendly and attentive. The fried oysters were a perfect appetizer followed by good steaks and shrimp. The cheesy grits were perfect. Oh yes, good salad, too. We will be back.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Old Post Office Restaurant during our first vacation to Edisto Island. My pork chop was tasty and my husband's seafood was cooked to perfection. He also liked the jasmine rice, while I loved the grits. There is something for everyone on the menu. Loved the ambiance, service was outstanding and we were treated... More

What a wonderful restaurant and experience! Adam seated us and Darla was our server. Since we were dining on Oct. 26th, shortly after Hurricane Matthew, we practically had the place to ourselves. No worry. Everything was first class!! Fried oyster appetizer was incredibly perfect....light, large and tasty. Salad included with dinner was fresh and delicious. My entree of the veal... More

Food was not that good, filet was tough, chicken was chewy, barbecue bland, black bean soup bland.....

Yes, we're all aware of the fact that you don't like our No Separate Checks policy although posted at our entrance and printed on every menu. After carrying on like you did about such what makes you think you're welcome to return. Thank you! More

Discovered the Old Post Office by accicent as was so pleased we went back a second night. The menu is solid with nice options but limited. Good wine list for area, staff was very helpful and attentive. Owners on site and were involved in checking with all the tables. Try the veal! Also sides are grits and lima beans but... More

Food and service was excellent. Best grits I have ever had, staff was gracious and accommodating. Owners came over to check on how things were. Steaks were wonderful.

My husband & I had the rare opportunity to have a date night during our Edisto vacation. We've been vacationing for the last 8 years on Edisto & have never had the chance to dine at The Old Post Office although we have always wanted to. My husband had the shrimp & grits & I had one of the evening's... More

We went early on Wednesday evening. Service was very attentive. The fried oyster appetizer and salad were very good to excellent. My wife ordered the oyster skillet for the entree. Very disappointing. Little more than oysters insalt water and a hint of garlic. The shrimp scallops and grits were much better. She pronounced the seafood gumbo ( the whim of... More
