We had a very nice meal and friendly service on a beautifully warm and sunny evening. A couple well-made gin and tonics preceded the seared tuna appetizer and two good entrees. We enjoyed both the blackened grouper and crab cakes very much. We ate outside in an enclosed dining area looking over the harbor. This area was comfortable and casual.

We had dinner while visiting town. We both had appetizers for dinner, both excellent. Portions were huge, food was outstanding. Lovely setting, good service. What more could you ask for?

The River Too is a big part of our Harbor walk. The food is great and you always see alot of family and friends there. It's a busy place so get there by 11:00 a.m. to get a great seat!

After returning on the Rover Tours shelling & lighthouse boat trip at 9:15pm, we were unsure what might be open for dinner. We were welcomed outside and seated immediately. We were a bit grungy from 4+ hours on a boat, but no one blinked. Don't bother with the menu, trust us on this. Just share the crab ball appetizer and... More

From the tuna appetizer thru the shrimp and scallop pasta and grouper entrees to the homemade key lime pie and chocolate mousse desserts, everything was spot on. The service was great, the room was full of fun decor and the view was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Had the lime grouper for dinner and oh my, melt in your mouth delicious. Generous portions, entree served with side salad, and 2 sides. Tasty options and also has baked or mashed potatoes not listed on menu. Fresh hot rolls are enjoyed also. Full bar service available. Beautiful view.

We always go to Georgetown while visiting Myrtle Beach and had lunch for the first time at the River Room. We arrived a little early and were lucky because it was full when we left. Nice to see so many locals there. I had the Caesar salad with oysters. Wasn't sure how it would taste but the oysters were lightly... More

The River Room has served delectable coastal-influenced fare to a tremendous following of loyal patrons since 1984.Moderately-priced lunch items include our World Famous Shrimp and Grits, Shrimp Creole and Pecan Chicken Salad served with apples and grapes. The dinner menu features fresh, grilled fish such as Carolina grouper, yellow-fin tuna and Atlantic salmon. Chef specialties include Herb-crusted Grouper, McClellanville Crab Cakes and Twin Filets of Beef with Blue Cheese ButterThe River Room is located in the historic J.B. Steel Building. In 1888 when the J.B. Steele Building opened, it housed two businesses known as the Steele-Moses stores. Downstairs, customers inspected dry goods and groceries displayed on massive hardwood counters, and upstairs they could be fitted for custom-made hats.Today, the building’s history is evident throughout and is enhanced with tasteful nostalgic décor. The dining room extends 50 feet into the Sampit River; its panoramic windows offer expansive harbor views. Nautical and turn-of-the-century antiques are on display, and an intimate bar showcases the restaurant’s wine collection.Children will surely make a beeline for the giant reef aquarium filled with colorful sea life.
